A nice old English Coaching House. Recently refurbished, staff very friendly, good beer, good breakfast, Frome is a nice place for a quiet week end.

Excellent, central location. Character property. Comfortable bed. Very clean linen and towels. Lovely toiletries. Difficult to navigate if you struggle with stairs. Be aware of parking restrictions if you park overnight in the large car park on a Friday night.

Interesting, old coaching? inn. Good breakfast and being asked whether I had allergies. Missed out on a car park space, because we cjecked in at 18.00 and had to park in a paying public car park 5 minutes walk away. We needed to have been advised to check in early. The large number of stairs were not a problem for usd this time but would be in the future. It was extremely irritating to have to complete a survey to access the internet. Thew first question made no sense to us, so we didn't proceed with the survey. That meant that we could not facetime our daughter.

excellent service from all the staff we encountered - friendly and efficient - room was clean and warm with lots of supplies in the bathroom and lots of drinks including a large refillable glass bottle of water - location is perfect for pub tour before an event at the cheese and grain - highly recommend

We had a nice size room, bed was very comfy. Bathroom was a nice size, there was paint peeling off in bathroom but that did bother us. Unfortunately as we were facing the town Center it was very noisy at night. So didn’t get much sleep.

We were made welcome and the dog was made a fuss of! Evening meal and breakfast very nice and room comfortable with all you need. Very good location for Cheese and Grain. Would definitely stay again

Overnight at the George Hotel
We wasn't there long enough to give a thorough review as we had come to see a concert at the Cheese and Grain. The room was a bit basic with old furniture but was clean with comfortable beds. There were a few bodge jobs in the bathroom. I don't get why anyone thought it was necessary to try and fit 2 toilet roll holders, but one fell off as my friend brushed passed going to the loo. Breakfast was edible but could of done with a better sausage. Other than that it is ideal if your planning to visit the Cheese and Grain and need somewhere to stay overnight.

Third time of staying at The George as its our go to place when attending events at The Cheese and Grain and have no complaints at all. Room had everything needed, warm, clean and the bed was comfortable. Great breakfast in the morning. Look forward to our next visit.

Good points: Staff are likeable and helpful. Short walk to the Cheese and Grain. Breakfast nice. Bad Points: Check in is at the bar. When I arrived the bar was very busy so a long wait to even get to the bar to check in. Car park was full so had to park in nearby pay and display. Batteries in TV remote were flat so unable to use TV. Quilt cover spattered with dried blood. Plumbing very noisy. You'll wake up if a neighbour flushes during the night. Had to stand on a chair to close window in bedroom.

October 4 night midweek stay
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast menu strict could take items off but not replace or add. Whilst hotel was 'clean' it requires updating eg carpets, furniture, plaster work, shower, toilet seat and more importantly the sash windows in the bedrooms to ensure some level of sound proofing. Hotel on a very busy street surrounded by shops and bus stops so very, very noisy all through the night. Bedrooms at back of hotel may be quieter.

Enjoyed our stay in rooms 4 and 5. Nice and quiet as not on main rd. Staff lovely and good breakfast choice. Our only problem was in both rooms when we wanted to shower in morning, no hot water. We were only staying one night so not to much of a problem as going back home that morning but if you were there longer could be a problem.

Lovely stay at the George, the bathroom in our room could have done with a lick of paint but it didn’t impede our stay, bedroom was spacious with good tea and coffee facilities. Lovely staff and great breakfast. Will stay again

Fabulous find
I fully enjoyed my stay here. Welcome was warm nd informative, room large with plenty of amenities - tea, coffee, biscuits etc as well as shampoo, shower gel etc in the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Will absolutely stay here again if in the area and don't hesitate to recommend to others.

We had a warm welcome on arrival. We were taken to our room 14 it had a four poster bed in the room which was very old dust and the mattress was like sleeping on the floor. Going around to the wardrobe smelt very musky so did not use. On too the window such gaps was like living on the main road. The curtains were just full of dust. The bath room needs a good make over mould on ceiling and extraction fan not working and lots of filling in. The carpet in the bed room needs cleaning or replacing. The food was very limited and poor ingredients for a hotel. I can not understand why this is called a hotel when really should be a bed and breakfast.
