The eye roller and the smoker

Posted Jun 15, 2015
Cons: customer service
Check in was quick, the room was had an odor and the air was off. We had problems setting the air to a comfortable temp. The tv would not turn on. We moved wires, checked the plug. I tried to call the front desk (11 PM Friday). The button on the phone that says front desk had a busy signal. Tried several times...busy, busy, busy. I went downstairs to the front desk. Absolutely no one to be found. Finally found someone. it took him about 10 or 15 minutes to get to our room but by then my husband figured out the problem. Well phone for front dest was busy. I get an eye roll from this grown gentleman when I told him we fixed the problem. I mentioned that the phone was busy for the front dest and he yelled push 0. Well maybe they should put that on the phone. The grout on the tub can use a good bleaching and the tp is at a distance for someone with a long reach. At checkout no one was at the front dest or offices It took 10 minutes for someone to finally show up and he smelled like an ashtray. Will not stay there again.

Only stayed because it was cheap

Posted Jun 15, 2015
This is an old hotel, but so is New Jersey, so the furniture was a bit outdated and the smell mildly uninviting. This is a pet friendly hotel, which worked our great for our friends that brought their dog. Only problem is, they don't place pets in one area of the hotel, they can be on any floor. So, woke up after my first nights sleep and found a small tick crawling on me. I was not happy. The breakfast was ok. The restaurant/bar was nice. Pool is nice and big and gym looked ok. Only would recommend to friends that are looking for cheap over smell.

Run down

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Cons: Breakfast service, staff.. hotel entrance...
Not a great hotel, needs major overhaul.. Elevator was very slow and dirty. The breakfast room was a joke. The rooms were OK, but still outdated.. we live in 2015 and this is in NJ..

Adequate

Posted May 18, 2015
The hotel was adequate and relatively comfortable. The staff wasn't overly welcoming and numerous staff couldn't speak English. The accommodations were average but the price was reasonable.

Great experience. Stayed there for two nights. Good location. Lots of parking spots. Spacious room, very comfortable. Free wi-fi in room. Very simple breakfast, but free.

Making the best of a Meh situation

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: The staff. Polite & Friendly.
Cons: almost everything else. consider a microwave in breakfast area downstairs - heard a few patrons complain eggs & other items cold. Small fix but a fix
Location: easy access to highway, local sports arena, shopping and about 60minutes outside NY city.
The nicest people helping you make the best of an OK situation. The woman at the front desk is charming, personable and always trying to help guests - and succeeds. However...the rooms are dingy and worn. The bathrooms have some mold in the showers (though has possibly the best water pressure & showerhead ever used at a hotel). The sink and toilet are just above 2 feet off the ground (so suitable for children or those under 5 feet tall). Pass on the complimentary breakfast (at least the undercooked eggs and potatoes - or bring rolaids/tums). Spouse did say waffle maker made an ok waffle. See...the desk people were so nice I'm looking for something nice to say about the hotel. Short version = this is the Motel 6 of La Quinta but atleast at the lower cost.

Not so great

Posted Apr 30, 2015 on Hotels
This is a very run down hotel. The TV did not work well, the carpets were old, part of the fixtures in the bathroom were broken off or missing. Although the front desk staff was nice, the management of the hotel assumed an unfriendly atmosphere - the room had a list of charges for various items if they were found missing. I took this to mean they assumed people would steal the items, like the ironing board. Really?? The walls were paper thin. I could hear everything in the next room and it was not muffled at all.

Unprofessional staffs at La Quinta

Posted Apr 30, 2015 on Hotels
I liked the prompt service we received at the reception. Room was specious and clean. But I didn't like the hospitality for free breakfast. One morning I picked up 4 cups of yogurt instead of 2 cups for 2 persons, Ms. Fabiona rushed to our breakfast table and stated that we should not take more than 1 cup of yogurt for each individual. I didn't expect such unprofessional behavior from La Quinta. Its embarrassing esp. when you are with family. I would certainly count on these factors during reservation of hotel for my next vacation.
