good placePosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall it was good. There was campers there for july and pretty much took over the pool area in the afternoons. Wasnt happy about that. Overall though very good place. Rooms were very large and loved the full kitchen. Cut our expenses a lot by being able to cook like home.

Great price, Lots of roomPosted Jul 20, 2013
Pros: Space, breakfast
This hotel is a great value. Two bedrooms, kitchen and living room all for a reasonable price. The hotel is a little dated, but it is clean and the staff is friendly. Breakfast in the morning was very good.

2 Separate Bedrooms in one suite!Posted Jul 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the hotel for just 2 nights, while our 17-yo son participated in a lacrosse tournament at Rutgers. The configuration of 2 bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed and its own bathroom (that's right...there were 2 full bathrooms in our suite!) was perfect for us (my husband and I in one bedroom/bath, our son with his smelly lacrosse gear in the other). The living room was nice, and the kitchen fully functional, typical of "extended stay" suites. Although we were only there the 2 nights, the convenience of a full-sized refrigerator and freezer was much appreciated. There was no cleaning service on Saturday morning, but that didn't bother us. If we had needed additional towels, they would have supplied them. The breakfast was good, with some hot food (scrambled eggs, sausage, etc) and the typical bagels, pastries, yogurt, etc. We did wish there was cut-up fresh fruit (there was only canned fruit cocktail and whole apples), but all in all the selection was good. The entire hotel is slightly in need of cosmetic maintenance, but it appears that they realize this and have started some extensive maintenance on some of the buildings. All in all, this was a wonderful place to go if you have 2 separate adults (or almost adult) sharing 1 suite.

Aged but comfortablePosted Jun 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
This property is showing its age and needs some maintenance outside where rotting wood and peeling paint were evident. The suites were large and clean but not very modern. Don't plan on watching TV. The televisions were 10 years old and reception was fuzzy on every TV and on every channel.

Bad ExperiencePosted Jun 24, 2013
Pros: The staff was quite pleasant.
Cons: Check weather report and make sure pool is fully functional, as advertised. Make sure rooms are cleaned and updated.
Location: There's some shopping and parks nearby.
It was the hottest day of the year so far and the pool was closed due to "unsafe" conditions. The first room we got was filthy and smelly. There was mold all over the bathroom, the sofa was stained and the rug was stained as well. The pleasant hotel staff arranged to put us into another room which was adequate but not worth the price we paid for the room. The breakfast was cold and without flavor. Very much a disappointment. Will not choose to stay at a Sonesta Inn again.

Very convenient locationPosted Jun 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was very conveniently located to shopping and the Garden State Exhibition Center in a nice area. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty to choose from. The staff members were also very nice and helpful. The rooms and exteriors could use a bit of an update (new bathroom floors and tubs, painting, etc) and the cleaning crew missed some things that should have been cleaned (pencil marks on walls, food spots on the drapes) although overall everything was clean and neat. Loved the set-up of a living room between the two bedrooms.
