Lovely traditional hotel in a great settingPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Location, food, staff
Cons: Water pressure for shower
Just stayed one night but everything was great, I would recommend this hotel and hope to visit again. The location is fabulous, the room was pleasant, the restaurant was really nice for dinner and the breakfast was great . Lovely to have decent coffee and bottled water in the room. Thoughtful little extras provided too, this hotel deserves it's 5 star rating.

Charming little Inn in the middle of ExmoorPosted Aug 25, 2013
Cons: Ensure maintenance is ongoing. ie : The legs on the dining table and tie backs on the curtains in our room needed attention
What a beautiful setting, right by The Tarr Steps.with lovely walks. It may be a little difficult to find, but what a reward for persistence! The accommodation is excellent with fabulous views, and with every possible little extra you may need (even a very personal item in the bedside drawer!) Food and service also excellent. with all local produce served and what a difference this makes!

Utter PeacePosted Aug 20, 2013
Great place to stay, even though roads are very small, when full car parking a bit tight. Bit dissapointed with the evening menu, it was not as good as the one on their internet site and in their room folder, staff said that was quite an old one, shame because we had decided on items not on the current menu. TV remote in room didn't work (not an issue), think TV's should be upgraded, they are quite old especially for a hotel charging what it does.

Absolutely fantastic couple of days stay. Lovely welcome when we arrived late - the chef stayed late to cook us some food which we were very grateful for. Lovely rooms, tastefully decorated. Breakfast was even served earlier for us for our eary start each morning to get to work. Will definitely be going back!

Great hotel and great locationPosted Jun 17, 2013
Wow! This place was in a stunning location. The hotel was brilliant in everyway. The place was smart, clean, warm, welcoming, comfortable and friendly. We stayed here for the Ironman 70.3 they even served breakfast at 4:30 so we could start racing at 7. The food in the restaurant was brilliant and breakfast was superb. We will defiantly be back to stay again. Thanks for a great stay.

A great place to stay if you want to get away from it all...tucked away down a narrow lane and right by Tarr Steps. Really friendly and the food is absolutely top class
