Never againPosted Jun 17, 2014
Cons: Staff, breakfast, rooms, decor, lighting, broken windows, room soundproofing, door closing,
Staff didnt even ask who we were, just gave us a key. Horrible green light in room on all night & very noisy room. Earplugs & eye mask were put to good use. Breakfast, well no cereal, very little else. Waited ages for worst toast in the world. Totally overpriced as other hotels in the area offered far more for 2/3 of the price. Extremely disappointed and would never recommend.

Ideal location for weekend awayPosted May 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had an excellent weekend at the Anchor Inn, where we were made to feel very welcome by the landord & staff. Nothing was too much trouble and have already booked to go back in June. Ideal location for walking, cycling in Exmoor

Lovely location and friendly landladyPosted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Staff and rooms
Cons: If I was being pickie we had the Thia curry for tea which was a little bland and the sauce a little too thick.
My partner and I had a really nice stay here, we chose the smallest room and it was perfect for us. The only issue was a droning noise all night, I think we were above fridges or chiller units for the cellar. Other than this the Anchor pub is really nice.

gateway to ExmoorPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: location and ambience. beer good and a very decent menu.
Cons: breakfast menu and coffee in a pot, not by the cup.
Location: Walking or cycling on Exmoor and Exe Fisheries
Lovely location right by the Exe river and a few miles from Dulverton. Beautiful beer garden. Views from our bedroom, no 5, were excellent. The full English fried breakfast was good, but no cereal or no menu if you didn't want a full English. Had to keep asking for more coffee! Dinner the previous evening was very good indeed. The owners were both helpful and welcoming. although dog friendly, we hadn't specified a dog room so our dog had to sleep in the car as our room was a dog free room.

Superb country pub with local ales and good food.Posted Aug 5, 2013
A great find, the Hotel sits alonside the River, plenty of walks and natrual countryside to enjoy. The Resturant has recently been refurbished and for a country pub is of a high standard. Staff were attentive and helpful, so much different from the 'chains' that are out there. Would highly reccomend this as a base for exploring the area.

Beautiful setting, great food and drink!Posted Jul 29, 2013
Lovely B&B in a pub in beautiful setting by the banks of the river Exe. Stayed in their small en-suite which was fine for one night. Food was excellent, as was service from staff. Good beers on tap too! Recommended.
