The Old Vicarage HotelPosted Feb 11, 2015 on Hotels.com
My wife and I were visiting an old friend who lives in Bridgwater so we picked Old Vicarage for our stay for two nights. The hotel is less than 30 minutes drive from Taunton Railway Station, and sits near the centre of a small town and by the river. This is a character hotel with spacious room and tasteful deco. There is on-site parking if you drive. Traditional English breakfast is prepared to order and is served by the fireplace. Room is of good size, very clean and quiet. Overall a very functional and practical little hotel that has been well taken care of.

I night stayPosted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: The staff were pleasant and the Breakfast was lovely . Couldn't be faulted .
Cons: Bathroom in our room although our friends stayed in a room above ours and there's didn't smell and their bathroom was much nicer , so pot luck I think
Location: The location was right in the town which is really good but there's not a lot to do, the shopping was rubbish ,no decent shops,
We were disappointed , our room was not in the main building and had to go across the car park .that wasn't really a problem . The room Was reasonably decorated and comfortable but smelt musky. The bathroom was much to be desired, really old fashioned and the floor was really uneven ! The shower was over the bath with a curtain around but I must say the water was plenty hot enough . We thought there was going to be a bar and eating area but there wasn't so that was a bit disappointing . We were lucky to be able to park at the back of the hotel .

Full of character and friendly helpful personnel. Just off town centre but very quiet in annexe. Very convenient for The Green Olive restaurant.

Central to Bridgwater town and facilitiesPosted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Location and access.
Location: Location was handy for walking around the town. Easy access for various regions of Somerset.
Staff were friendly and very helpfull. Parking was good. Room was clean though our bathroom floor sloped, due to age of original building.Downside, when we entered the room it smelt damp (musky), which soon cleared when we opened the window.Accommodation was warm and the bed was very comfortable.Good breakfast.

Exactly what we were looking forPosted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: It was situated a very short walk from the high street, off street parking, friendly atmosphere, and a decent room at an affordable price.
Cons: possibly update the décor in the next couple of years. Make the breakfast finish a little alter ;-)
Location: No idea, we were just there for a wedding
We were visiting Bridgewater for a wedding, so found the hotel online, at a very competitive price. The room was clean, well presented and the staff approachable and charming. The furnishings in the room could do with a bit of an update, but for the price, I wouldn't expect anything more, it was exactly what we needed. Sadly, we didn't get up early enough for breakfast, so can't comment.

OKPosted May 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms was freezing and there was no way to turn on the heating. Dining room was also cold. Waited ages to be served breakfast - the buffet table was very sparse, the cooked breakfast was good though. It ll just felt a bit sad and run down.
