Dennis's 2013 and 2014 Winter VacationPosted Jan 11, 2014
Cons: The transportation system and how it can be used: taxis, the local bus system, and scooter rental on day one.
Location: The Dockyard was very close by and Hamilton.
Our stay at the Cambridge resort was very pleasant and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was awesome. We received an upgrade on room which was a bonus. We feel in love with Bermuda overall and Cambridge was a big part of our decision to make another trip to Bermuda in the near future.

Lovely Relaxing Holiday in a Traditional Setting!Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Secluded location, 'chalet'-style accommodation, old world charm, attentive and friendly staff... and the laid back, unhurried atmosphere.
Cons: FOOD!!!!!! Other than breakfast, which was excellent.
We thoroughly enjoyed this charming resort. The best part of the experience was the fantastic staff!! Our only complaint - and it is a fairly big one - was the food. Breakfast buffet was superb but the food in the restaurant for lunch and particularly dinner was very expensive (even by Bermuda standards!) and was just, well... adequate. This was a disappointment, given the overall, outstandingly positive experience of our stay. In fact, we had such a wonderful time that we are definitely considering a return visit!

Pros: Beautiful room - suite - beautiful grounds - very quiet
Cons: an orientation to what's available and the grounds would be helpful.
Location: out of the way location - not much nearby - but a very pretty, restful place

Out of the WayPosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel staff was great. The location is very out of the way so if the weather is not good, get your taxi money ready and it is very expensive for taxi's. The hotel is in need of a face lift and we had some issues with the food. The desert souffle came out like cake batter. Way too expensive for mistakes like this...

First trip to BermudaPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: All off the rooms appeared to be one level cottages (some joined) and it looked like all would have at least partial water views.
Cons: The rooms could be updated with nicer amenities. There should be notice of reduced hours for the bars and resturaunts when booking.
Location: The resort is pretty secluded but the dockyards are a short bus or taxi ride. Visiting the Maritime Museum is a must.
This was our first trip to Bermuda. I booked the Cambridge Beaches because it was rated very highly on Expedia. To be very honest, I booked the trip before I did much research.I had no idea that Bermuda had an off season. We stayed November 20-24. I think one of the bartenders told me that there were only 65 people staying at the resort that week. The check in staff was very nice. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a view of Long Bay. It was clean and spacious. The porter that took us and our bags to our room was very nice (Larry). The bed was very hard so I did not sleep well during the trip. The weather was too chilly to lay on the beach or swim. The resort only has three resturaunts and since it was off season there was only one open for lunch and one open for dinner. Breakfast was included in the room rate and it was fantastic. It was buffet style and had a huge selection of meats, cereal, fruit, breads, etc. We we went to the dockyards a few times but most things were closed for the off season. To be honest we were bored and the highlight of the trip was the bartenders at the resort. And we rarely drink! We were missing human conversation! We had outstanding drinks and great conversation from the Breezes bartender Derrick on Friday afternoon and then on Saturday night with William as well. Bermuda is very expensive. I would like to go back and stay during peak season to see how the resort is then but I am not sure I could afford to stay there during peak season!

Not what I expectedPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is just okay, very standard and nothing fancy at all, not worth its price though. I will definitely not pay full price for this hotel, I much rather stay closer to the city, or closer to the nicer and main beaches of Bermuda. We picked this hotel even though it was one of the most expensive hotels in its category for its private beaches, and because we thought that with the price we were paying we would have certain expectations, but we were wrong. The hotel is located at the very end of the island, a taxi ride from the airport will cost you around US$60 one-way (about an hour ride), and a taxi to downtown will cost you around US$40 one-way (about 35min ride). While the hotel property is just okay, there is nothing to do around the area, absolutely nothing to do. The hotel is very isolated (which it can be good, depending on your preference). Yes, the property has two very small private beaches but that’s about it. We spent all of our time in the beaches near elbow beach and the beaches near The Fairmont Southampton Hotel. We regretted our stay in the Cambridge hotel and we wished we would have stayed at the Fairmont because of its location and convenience. At the end, with taxi fares and very expensive meals -in the only restaurant open at the Cambridge- we ended up spending more money than expected. My advice is to stay either at the The Fairmont Southampton Hotel, or in a hotel near Elbow Beaches.

First class - natural beauty - well looked after!!Posted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: The property and staff - PLENTY OF THINGS TO DO RIGHT ON LOCATION - you could rent anything from bikes to boats, kayaks, fishing equipment, etc.
Cons: I'd have to stay a second time to determine anything I did not like - and there WILL be a second time...
Location: Prime location - with great enjoyment of privacy
Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa Beautiful! If you are looking for a resort with first class natural beauty all over, then this is the place to choose!! - This was our first visit and a wonderful experience - We were well-cared for from the time we entered reception until the time we left - with a room we wouldn't have traded for the world! Personnel at Breezes and Port-O-Call were great and so was dancing on Friday night and fine dining at Tamarisk on Saturday night. Delicious buffet breakfast with great service. When family called in late to spend some time - they were kindly accommodated at Port-O-Call with food and drinks - The food was delicious - the gym and Aquarian baths were wonderful and we were kept busy and/or relaxed with croquet/golf putting, books and private spots to lounge - we chose to do Kayaking which was a lovely experience with friendly accommodating staff once again looking after us. You can rent or do just about anything - right at Cambridge - from biking to boats or fishing if desired - rent a cottage with a private beach or private island - there is so much more to tell. Thank you for a fabulous time Cambridge! We look forward to another weekend!! Hoping to make this a regular. Pearman's
