Definitely ReturningPosted May 26, 2015
The facilities and staff were wonderful. Only stayed 6 days and wish we stayed longer. If we go back to Bermuda would definitely return to this resort.

Gorgeous but had a few minor slips in servicePosted May 23, 2015
Pros: The resort is serene & quiet on Somerset Island with full water views.
Cons: Service, attention to detail.
Location: Daniels Head park is nearby. This is where kiteboarders launch. Misty's fish shack is close. Get a sandwich and watch the kiteboarders.
The location, our cottage & staff was great. My husband and I experienced a few minor mishaps that can be easily fixed through better communication. The breakfast selection is excellent (BEST glazed doughnuts made by the hotels chef) though pour service lacked on one occasion. Two different reservations got a bit flubbed: golf on one day and a dinner at the hotel the next day. Also, we reported 2 room problems at the front desk the day we arrived & were told they'd be fixed by evening but they weren't (1 problem was a wi-fi blinking light over the bed, a bit unpleasant). The following day no one at the front desk knew of the reported problems but they fixed them that day. The pool area was messy with bottles/glasses/used towels by late afternoon each day - no staff around to clean up & it didn't look very nice. Just minor stuff but we noticed and the dinner reservation problem we had made us feel kinda bad w/o going into details. However, the views are outstanding, the little touches such as iced melon water in the lobby/spa refreshing, the shuttle to the Naval Yard convenient. Misty's is great and just down the street! The Country Squire in Somerset was awful. Bus stops are nearby.

Perfect location beaches on three sides. On beach.Posted May 16, 2015
Relaxed and active. Played tennis daily, swimming, boating and golf. Food was delicious and they have reciprocal deals with other restaurants.

Timeless RefugePosted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: The spacious grounds, the staff, our massage splurge, and the meals, which included excellent complimentary breakfast and relaxing afternoon tea.
Cons: Nothing of any importance.
Location: The resort is at the quiet west end of the island; so you have to travel to the airport, shopping, other fine dining, and entertainment. Fine with us.
The resort is laid out so that the guest accommodations feel very private while being just a short walk from the many other amenities. Our spacious cottage overlooked one of the several beaches on the property and had an outdoor deck where we could enjoy the sunsets. We found plentiful walking on the paths, including shady trails through a wooded area that appears once to have been an ambitious formal garden, no longer sustainable without the armies of cheap labor that would have built and maintained it in the past, but retaining a faded charm. The rest of the place is well-kept, freshly painted and freshly trimmed. The condition of our room was excellent and the staff unfailingly cheerful and eager to be of assistance. We enjoyed all of our meals, including lunches at the informal Breezes restaurant and dinners in the more-but-unstuffily formal Tamarisk. Many guests return again and again, some as many as 85 times (a list is posted on the wall). We hope to pay our second visit soon.

Just Ok. Nothing spectacular!Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: The staff was friendly, and for the most part the rooms were kept clean although out of date/style. I like that they had an indoor swimming pool.
Cons: Updated furnishing/ maintenance work, staff needs to be more organized, more equipment at gym, alternating breakfast choices, massages were too costly
Location: Dockyard was close and from there the ferry to Hamilton was a short distance. Pink beaches esp. Warwick long beach is a must.
All the buildings were mainly colonial and seemed a bit out of date. Cambridge needed some maintenance work done to the outside like the few pot holes on the road we walked on to get to our suite. I wish they had a gym with more equipment since the two treadmills they had were always being used. They did have a trail near by which was beautiful and peaceful place to run so I didn't mind too much about the gym. People of Bermuda for the most part are very kind and very friendly. The staff at Cambridge was professional and accommodating however very disorganized. We had different waiters throughout each meal and asked us the same questions the previous waiter has asked. Also, they kept getting our orders mixed up because of the confusion amongst them. At dinner time we had to wait over an hour to get our food because of communication issues amongst staff. The food is great but with a heavy price tag. Expect to spend $$$ money at each meal since everything is expensive especially at the Cambridge Resort. The view was spectacular and for this reason alone we would visit again. Renting a motor scooter was the best idea ever since we were able to explore on our own and at our own pace during our stay. We were able to see all of Bermuda from top (st.georges) to the end (the dockyard). This particular resort was more appealing to the seniors so my husband and I, being a newlywed young couple, spent most of our time outside of the resort on adventures :)

A quiet place to get away from it all.Posted Apr 24, 2015
The resort and staff were great. We had high expectations and they were exceeded. My wife loved the beaches but there is great fishing around the property. There are bonefish off the main beach and even more fish on the marina side. Fly fishing was ok but I would imagine bait fishing would keep you busy reeling fish in. For artificials I suggest small silver casting spoons for the jacks and mackerel. For the fly fishing I suggest small pink Crazy Charlie's for the bones. I caught a barracuda on a silver minnow pattern. I suggest bringing a fly rod and a casting/spinning rod with a fast retrieve. When the mackerel are around reel fast to get a strike. Enjoy...

Private oceanview hotel.Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Staff were friendly and attentive and we felt very comfortable the entire time. It is located between the bay and the ocean, so water views abound.
Had a wonderful long weekend in early spring. Enjoyed the wonderful breakfast buffet and evening culinary delights. Water sports of every kind are available, along with tennis, croquet, scooters, putting green and paths for walking. All in all a great place to visit.

Large property, but felt very private.Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Wonderful layout, individual units spread out on a spacious property. Tennis, water sports, croquet, spa, everything you could want for activities.
We had a wonderful experience. Staff was very friendly and attentive and met our every need. Food was excellent and breakfast buffet was outstanding. Room was comfortable and spacious, with a large patio, big enough for at least four people, and overlooking the ocean.

Great getaway locationPosted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: Private room at ground level; great beaches, semi remote location, friendly, helpful staff, great pools. Also, no children under 14.
Cons: We were there before the main season started so there were some facilities that were not open. All in all, a wonderful resort.
Location: Bermuda is not a large island and is easily covered using the public buses or by motor scooter. Additionally there is the ferry.
Wonderful experience. Other guests and staff were always polite and engaging. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. The concierge was especially helpful in suggesting restaurants, and leisure activities. The definitely are the "Ahh" in Bermuda!
