American motels and GreeksPosted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: The helpful reception
Cons: Change the window panes so that people in the room can see out but can not be seen from outside
Location: Everything is near. Very practical location.
I am Greek. I am accustomed to open windows and the sunshine flowing in. So I assume I would feel enclosed in Any American motel. Windows are placed on the passageway with the result that it is unsafe to keep them open at any time of the day or night. If one does not draw the curtains than your privacy is to the mercy of every passerby. Therefore you keep windows closed and curtains drawn, hence the prison like feeling. It may be traditional style architecture but it certainly is neither comfortable and does not allow to benefit from good weather. Think how much energy could be saved if one could open the windows to let in the natural sunlight and the refreshing air.

Standard chain hotelPosted Sep 16, 2014
Cons: Room upkeep.
Location: Just a stop for a road trip.
It was your standard hotel chain. The refrigerator did not work, nor did the coffee maker. The air conditioner was very noisy and did not work well. The woman at the front desk was a sweetheart and very kind and helpful.

You get what you pay forPosted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Convenient location.
Location: Walking distance to downtown Petaluma with interesting restaurants for outdoor dining and music performances in the summer, near Lagunitas brewery.
The hotel was clean and not expensive. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel borders a freeway on one side and 2 very busy streets on 2 other sides. So there was a lot of traffic noise. The light fixture in our bathroom was failing so we had to switch rooms. The ac in our 2nd room was loud and made it difficult to sleep. The free breakfast was very basic but OK. The only reason we booked this hotel was because it was convenient to an event that we planned to attend.

Comfortable and reasonably price, nothing fancyPosted Aug 12, 2014
We were given a room with a small balcony by the very kind reception desk employee. We enjoyed it. Also the pool was the perfect temperature and was very relaxing after a long drive through Napa and Sonoma. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were quiet and clean. Nothing fancy but a nice place to stay.
