Great hotel for the moneyPosted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: Liked the natural feel when I walked into the hotel. The walls are slated stone and the waterfall in the lobby was a nice touch. Decor was clean.
Cons: My room was a little half way down the hall and I couldn't get WiFi reception in my room. Front desk couldn't do anything to help.
Location: Lots of wineries nearby.
I needed a place to stay in Santa Rosa and this was the nicest hotel for the price. Checked in late and got a good room on the second floor. I usually like to be on the highest level because I don't like to hear people walking loudly above me. Surprise! There is no elevator so I had to carry my bags up the stairs. Ok, no big deal, I'm healthy. Got to my room and it was clean, comfortable, and had a modern decor. Nice flat screen. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows. I had a bit of work to do and tried to connect to the free WiFi. It could not detect the network. I went downstairs and no one was at the front desk. I said, "hello!" loudly a few times before I decided to walk into the back area repeating "hello" several times. Finally, the person heard me and said they would be with me. I know it was after midnight, and quiet, so I can understand if they need a little rest. No biggie. The problem was, she couldn't resolve my internet problem and since they were completely booked, I couldn't switch rooms. I had to use my cellphone as a personal hotspot and connect my laptop using that. If WiFi is important to you, you may want to get a room closer to the lobby. Next morning, I took a quick dip in their pool. Thought it was refreshing. Ate breakfast at the hotel's restaurant using the free breakfast vouchers I received at check-in. Thought the staff there was courteous and professional. Food was good. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but I generally tend to not sweat the small stuff.

Ok hotelPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Clean room and friendly staff.
Cons: Pool needs to be repainted, carpets need to be changed in some areas.
Location: Not much to do close by other than wineries.
Not the best location, a bit too far from center of town. A bit noisy because of proximity to highway. Very clean room and friendly staff. Some carpets are really dirty.

just passing throughPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: easy to get to, very quiet, excellent facilities, including food
Cons: nothing I can think of
Location: unknown, just passing through
We needed a nice place to stay on our last night in the USA after a 3 week holiday. This popped up on Expedia and we took a chance. And were blown away! So welcoming with wine and nibbles in reception. We were very tired and it was really nice not to leave the premises. We visited the bar and had drinks and some bar snacks, then went back to the room and later ordered room service. The meals were of very high quality. I wish I lived closer, I'd be back in a heartbeat, and even better, it wasn't expensive! And express check out was a brilliant touch. Good customer service from start to finish.

Fountaingrove Inn is the best!Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Great value for the money. Modern accommodations, great location, attentive staff. Everything!
Cons: Improve water pressure in shower. One bed was starting to sag just a wee bit.
Location: Easy access off 101 in Santa Rosa yet very quiet area. Perfect for wine tasting up & down Sonoma. And lots of restaurants in Santa Rosa nearby.
Fabulous hotel in Santa Rosa centered in the Sonoma Wine Country region. Beautiful rooms with luxury beds/bedding and fine finishes all around. Loved returning to our room after all that wine tasting to a comfortably cooled room and relax on those cushy beds and watch a movie or show on the flat screen TV. Very close to restaurants in Santa Rosa (Railroad Square, Russian River Brewery, Mombo's pizza, etc). This is our second stay here in 2 years and we will definitely return next time.

The room was very nicely appointed. Staff very helpful. The hotel needs an elevator, and the carpet in the stairway desparately needs a deep cleaning. Very little parking space. Nice lounge!

The hotel is about 40 minutes from Napa. Great on site restaurant and bar happy hour was great sliders are delicious. One negative had a room right by the entrance so could get slightly noisy. On site parking and free wifi in rooms.
