“Peace & Tranquility”

Our initial reaction was that we had stumbled upon a totally deserted hotel as it took us almost 25 minutes to find someone to provide some front-office attention. This was, allegedly, created by the fact that we, apparently, arrived 45 minutes after their normal 'latest check-in' time of 6 p.m. about which we had no knowledge. Not a good start and, consequently, we decided to 'eat out' as we felt somewhat 'uncomfortable' especially as there was no-one else to be seen anywhere! The next morning, all was forgiven and we enjoyed a wonderfully fresh and healthy breakfast interspersed with pleasant conversation with the owner. At checkout, he also, very kindly, printed out some directional info for us from the internet so the previous evening's experience faded into obscurity. All in all, a lovely place to stay for a day or two with all the spa treatments on offer as well. The only 'cons' were the ceiling window in our room which awoke us very early (no visible means of shutting out the light) and the apparent absence of air conditioning which might have made life uncomfortable in the hot weather. Plenty of 'pros' to compensate though.

“Pleased”

We felt the owner had a lot of passion for his place but there were some areas that needed improving. The sink in the bathroom had large cracks that needed repair. And the sofa and chair were uncomfortable. And the way the TV was set up my neck became very sore. I was looking up at a 8-9 foot high mounted TV. The property was beautiful. Very nice gardening, has a spa in a private room, they offer horse back riding and wine tasting for their guests which is a nice touch.

“nice, but pricey extras”

Our stay was very nice, our room was beautiful, and the grounds were quiet nice. The owner is very nice, my husband and I called him a "one man show". He does it all, cooking, roomservice, and greets the customers, all with a smile. Very nice man. With all that being said, there was a down side. The dinner menu we were given had 5-6 meals to choose from, and called a 3 course meal, salad-entree, and desert.( Most places include salad with meal.) The problem was the price. We'll just say, our dinner the first night, cost us almost 1/2 the price of our room. Oh Yeah, all meals are one price. You may want to check-out other dinning options in the area. There a lots of them.
