Came up to Santa Rosa for the ARTrails weekend.

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Insulation, to get rid of the traffic noise.
Location: It was close to HWy 101, practically on top of it, that was the only positive thing about the place.
Our room was the last room on the south side of the third floor. The sound level from HWy 101 was awful, it sounded like the traffic was going through the room! I will never stay there again. Certainly not worth $127, it was worth about $50!!

Convenient location

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice pool area. Breakfast was very basic and the only hitch was that I had to go down to reception 4 times because key did not work. Otherwise everything else was okay.

Convenient restaurant steps away from Hotel

We booked the hotel based on overnight accomodations near a wedding that we attended. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was small with tiny sink outside the bath/shower area. Hallway carpet was worn and stained.

The Vagabond Inn that could have been Motel 6.

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: The second room was very clean and comfortable
Cons: The moldy smell in the stairwells and hallways. And if the desk clerk is notified of a bad room to investigate and find a solution like the manager.
Location: Location is close to the coddingtown mall and Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. Many thing to explain here.
A King Bed with no smoking was requested. On arrival we were given a room as soon as we walked in you could smell the smoke. The smell was so bad it was giving us a head ache. I went to the desk clerk and told them about the smell. Desk clerk said they had no more rooms available. As we contemplated about going to the motel 6 next door. The Manager walked by and asked if anything was wrong. We told him about the smoke and he entered the room and asked us to give him 5 minutes that he would call us on the house phone and see if he could find something else. We told him we didn't need a king bed. 5 minutes later he found another room with a queen and no smoke. The manager went out of his way to help us. I gave then an excellent for the manager but took one point for the desk clerk.

Mediocre

Nonsmoking room stunk of smoke. Opening a window helped, except there was no screen. Key did not work on external door, had to walk all the way around, except when it was propped open (yikes!)

Comfortable

Nice clean rooms very comfortable and modern for the most part I would suggest if I'm paying 80 bucks a night to have a bigger tv and it to be a flat screen. But I give this place a 9 out of 10 like I said very comfortable just I would expect a better breakfast n flat screens

Decent~ as cheap as this area gets~ hotel. Happened to have something go down while we stayed...5 or 6 cop cars blocked drive way & sent us away. We can't go to rooms...we got in later & all seemed well.

Affordable hotel in an otherwise expensive area

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: This is a good example of 'you get what you pay for'. Which is to say, not much. Staff was pleasant.
Cons: Very dingy and outdated.
Location: Can't comment on this.
I knew this was a 2-star property when I reserved it, so I didn't expect much. And that's exactly what I got. This is hotel is very old. Could really use a sprucing up. Corridors are very dark, stairwells are bleak, concrete steps. We were there for only one night, did not use wi-fi, nor did we use the pool. We asked about breakfast, and it's a Continental breakfast (bagels, danish, fruit, juice, coffee). Decided to go to the excellent Sam's For Play cafe right next door instead. The layout of the room is curious. There is a gigantic, old, tube TV that gets about 10 channels. The sink is IMMEDIATELY inside the door. Seriously. You open the door, sink is RIGHT THERE. Shower/toilet area is OK, small. There is no built in closet, instead there is a wardrobe that looks like it came from IKEA. There is a coffee maker, microwave, and dorm-style refrigerator, none of which we used. Soundproofing is non-existent. We could hear our very, ahem, 'boisterous' neighbors clearly through the walls.

Will never stay there again.

The room smelled like old cigarette smoke in a nonsmoking room. All our clothes smelled bad also from this terrible odor. Could not open the window to get fresh air because there was no screen on the window. The mattresses were terrible with no support and was like sleeping on a big banana. Seem like a motel turned into a homeless shelter.
