Nice hotel in central Trondheim

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Location, front staff
This basic but sufficiently pleasant hotel is close to many sights and has excellent reception staff. We had a large room, large bathroom - basic but met our needs for a quick visit. Good value for money.

One bedroom apartment

We had an apartment, which was spacious and good value for money. The hotel is very central and walking distance from the station and Hurtigruten ferry terminal.

Excellent location and really helpful staff.

Pros: The kitchenette was useful if you want to save a bit of money by not eating out all the time. A large kitchen with ovens is available.
Cons: Our view was a bit grim, but you can't have everything.
Location: Guided tour of Palace, folk museum, Cathedral and museums.
Excellent location, opposite the Royal residence (which has a lovely, quiet small garden open to the public), close to shops, sights and transport. We booked an apartment with four beds as a family room usually has a roll-out bed which is no good for our enormous son. When we arrived there was no fourth bed space (not a problem, only one son) and the camp bed was so flimsy he dare not sleep on it. The lady in reception was genuinely helpful and found us another apartment with three single beds and a nice bathroom. She was not remotely "sniffy" as some English receptionists would be. We had a really enjoyable time in Trondheim, lots to do and good restaurants.

Location: Ten to fifteen minute walk to all points of interest, including Nidaros Cathedral and historic riverfront buildings- awesome spectacles!
A pleasant ten minute walk from railway station. Situated in the heart of the town, The staff, particularly Ellin, were very friendly, and helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, handy hotel at a reasonable price.

Great service

This is a great little hotel, very centrally located. I was particularly impressed by the friendly & helpful staff at the front desk. They answered questions about where to eat, how to find places in town and how to access info on the internet. I would gladly recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

Overnight in Trondheim

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: The staff and location were both great for the beginning of our third week in Scandinavia.
Cons: Travel is what it is, but first impressions can be lasting ones, if they are good or bad.
Location: Great location for all activities, dining and services.
We easily found the hotel after arriving at the airport and picking up the rental car. Some sort of music festival was in the city and a dance troupe was staying at the hotel. About ten of the dancers blocked the entrance to the hotel as they sat on the entry steps smoking and being somewhat obnoxious. Of course that has nothing to do with the hotel or the facility or the service but on first blush, was not what we expected upon our arrival. The young gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful with advice on parking, facilities at the hotel and recommendations for a brew pub (not a block away) and a very nice Italian restaurant located around the corner from the hotel entrance. Both recommendations were great, but be ready for the costly experience. We had an apartment with bedroom loft and bath overlooking the sitting area and kitchen below. The room was very hot and did not have air conditioning. We opened the windows and sometime during the night, the apartment did cool down. This was a great overnight stay on our way to a timeshare about four hours away in Sweden. We would definitely return to this property. On our check out the gal at the front desk was just as helpful as the fellow the previous night and provided us great coffee in go-cups for the drive. There is a 7/11 located within a hundred yards that offered up fresh pastries.
