Could do better!

Posted Feb 12, 2013
Pros: 4 poster bed
Cons: broken shower
Location: noisy main road
The shower was broken, you had to hold it up. I wouldn't recommend actually using most of the kitchen items either, as they were covered in dust. However, the rest of the room and the layout etc were all very nice. The staff were helpful at check in / check out (although please note that you have to collect the keys at a different B&B and it looks like Casa Armida is only actually two small apartments in a residential block) Finally, the main road it is located on is very noisy and we stayed there in February... I can imagine it would be a lot worse in full summer.

This B&B is not in Ravello

Posted Jan 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is not in Ravello and shouldnt be advertised as such. When I left the next morning, I had to walk up about 1,000 steps and steep roadway (thankfully I was only traveling with a small bag) to get back to Ravello, and I would not have been able to do this without the aid of my Google Maps. Shortly after booking, I received an email from the owner stating that the place was "suggested to guests with car since it is about 1200 metres away from the town centre and from the nearest bus stop" (description on Hotels.com says 600 metres). The cancellation policy does not allow for any refund inside of 30 days so I was stuck even though I wouldnt be driving (and I wouldnt recommend driving here without experience in Amalfi). .The email also admitted that the property is not in Ravello, but in the town of S. Cosmo. From Ravello, I had to take a taxi which charged me 20 Euro. The walk would have been unmanageable in the dark and rain. There was no place for me to eat near the property, so I had to rely on what was left for the "free breakfast" in the refrigerator and cabinets (ham, cheese, yogurt, biscotti). It was 40 degrees outside, but they hadnt bothered to turn on the heat in the room for me so I was cold for about 1 hour. All in all, a terrible experience. On the up side, the view is pretty incredible.

Read! nothing about this hotel is called armida!!!

Posted May 28, 2011 on Hotels.com
No part of this hotel is called Casa Armida. When we arrived my sister and I spent an hour looking for this place and had to rely on the help of many strangers to finally find the parent hotel called palace something who told us that our hotel was called something else and that we couldn't check in until 2pm. Don't get me wrong the hotel and their staff were wonderful! but do not go looking for something called casa armida at the adress on this website. hotels.com is incorrect! oh and by the way there is internet at this place but not BREAKFAST and the Bed and BREAKFAST
