Excellent Hotel with Wonderful ViewsPosted May 15, 2015
Pros: The friendliness of all staff and the view from our room
Location: About 10 minutes walk from the old pedestrianized streets of Sorrento, with a number of highly ranked 'Trip Advisor' restaurants within 5 minutes walk
We enjoyed a wonderful stay in the excellent Hotel Continental Sorrento in May. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The Hotel overlooks a quiet Plazza with exceptional views over the Bay Of Naples. Excellent facilities and a breakfast buffet that would be hard to beat anywhere in the world! Fresh fruit, pastries, cheeses,. meats, cereals, etc, etc.

Lovely Hotel with Bay ViewsPosted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: The rooms were lovely with immaculately clean bedding and mattress. Breakfast was a super buffet with huge choice. Staff are courteous and friendly.
Cons: The gym cardio equipment borderline useless. The running machines were the worst I've ever used whilst the other cardio equipment was even worse.
Location: Superb location by a delightful terrace park overlooking the Bay of Naples. It's a short walk into the town centre and near numerous restaurants.
Loved this hotel. It's feels like a good 4-star with friendly, courteous, attentive staff and a high standard of cleanliness and attractive decor. There's attention to detail everywhere - for example, a smartly uniformed lady spends hours arranging beautiful flower displays all round the hotel. The common areas are relaxed and comfortable with a PC available for guest use. Don't book this hotel on the strength of it having a gym though. The weights may be OK, but the cardio equipment was cheap and pretty useless. I persevered with a horrible running machine, but found the other cardio equipment (eg bike and cross-trainer) virtually unusable if you're serious about keeping feet. They could transform the gym if they purchased a couple of decent bikes and cross-trainers. It's worth stretching to a sea view room as the view we had of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius was wonderful. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of choice of all kinds of hot and cold foods. There's plenty of healthy options if you want them (fruit, muesli, soya milk, wholemeal rolls) or unhealthy ones if you prefer (bacon, pastries, cake, etc).

Would we go there again......Posted Apr 27, 2015
Cons: I only gave a four for room comfort. This was because I found the mattress a little too hard for me, although my husband slept like a log!
Location: Don't miss the fishermans village just around the corner from the Continental!
My husband and I would definitely stay at the Continental should we go to Sorrento again! It is a lovely hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. I have to mention Antonio the head waiter in particular who we got to know the best during our stay, he has a brilliant sense of humour and flambes a beautiful fillet of beef!! Make sure you eat at the hotel as it was some of the best food we had whilst in Italy!

Good LocationPosted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Great room and view
Cons: Hotel restraunt a bit pricy but plenty of alternatives out in town.
Location: Easy walk to shops, etc. Train to Naples runs every 30mins or so and will take you to Pompeii & Herculanium for about 2.70 euros.
Very good hotel just meters from the central town plaza and easy 10min walk to the station if you want to travel to Pompeii etc. Very friendly staff and great service. The room we had overlooked the bay and versuvius with a small park area out front but some of the rooms would overlook the street and the building next door. Good selection at breakfast time. Sorrento is lovely at this time of year, not too crowded but nice enough to sit out in the evening to eat at the many restraunts.

Excellent hotel near Sorrento centrePosted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Breakfast and the swimming pool
The Continental is an excellent hotel in a location with very little traffic noise with a small park in front of it. The staff were extremely pleasant. We stayed B&B with a massive choice for breakfast. We did not eat in the hotel for dinner but the menu and prices looked very good.
