A fantastic hotel.Posted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: All the staff were really friendly and made us feel so welcome.
Cons: No, it was great!
Location: Trips to Pompeii, Herculaneum, island of Capri. In Sorrento itself there were so many good restaurants that were spoilt for choice.
We have just returned from Sorrento and what an amazing holiday! The weather was perfect- 23 degrees everyday ( at the end of October) and the hotel was in a perfect location with sea views and within a few minutes walk of restaurants and shops. The staff were all extremely helpful and eager to make our holiday as happy as possible. Our rooms were beautifully clean and our sea view balcony was fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be coming back again (hopefully very soon!). Sorrento itself is a beautiful town and it is ideally positioned for days out to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Capri.

Beautiful HotelPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The beauty and serenity of the hotel and the area around it. We had the most wonderful breakfast, which was include in the price. Staff wonderful!
Location: We walked everywhere from our hotel. ExploreI We walked to the right side of the hotel, down narrow road and found way down to harbor!! Beautiful!
My daughter and I stayed at the Continental for four nights. I had realized from other reviewers that it should be a nice hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful it was. We were told when we got there that they had updated our room for free and we were so happy with our room. It had balcony with a view of the mountains of Sorrento on the left and the magnificent Mediterranean sea in front of us. We did stay here late-middle of October so the tourist season was winding down for the year. Our room was great - lots of room. The bed was called a 'double' bed but it was two wide singles put together, so lots of room. Tile floors throughout, air conditioning, big bathroom. We had gone out the first night and when we came back our bed had been turned down, small thin mats by the bedside (take it so that your feet didn't get cold on the tile), new fresh towels, and a piece of chocolate! The pool are is beautiful. Everyone was most welcoming, and they helped us get some tours at the last moment. Went on a half day trip to Pompeii (think that was a perfect amount of time, not whole day), and also a day trip to Capri. Sorrento is just fun to explore!

Best you will find for the pricePosted Oct 22, 2013
Pros: The friendliness of the staff.
Cons: The internet service for handheld devises is very poor but I am finding that all over Italy.
Location: We visited the Blue Water ristaurante in Sorrento a short walk from our hotel. the Prices, the food and the service were so good we visited 3 times,
This is what a hotel should be. A 4 star hotel with 5 star service. The staff could not do enough for you. My friends, my wife and I had a fantastic stay, clean rooms, clean hotel, great water views, excellent breakfast although the coffee was Italian strong.

Well located hotelPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Convenience and friendliness of staff.
Cons: The availability of an iron, in-room tea / coffee making facilities and the quality of the gymnasium.
Location: Very good location (our room had a balcony that looked right across the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius), with ready access to the shops and restaurants.
This is a very well located hotel, convenient for the old town area of Sorrento, the two marinas and public transport for trips to the surrounding areas. The rooms were comfortable and clean and staff extremely friendly and professional. The hotel do not allow guests to use their own hairdryers, there are no tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms and no irons available - you have to pay the hotel staff to iron any creased clothes. The gym was not particularly well equipped and some of the equipment either did not work or was not particularly good quality.

Perfect locationPosted Oct 13, 2013
This is the perfect example of how a hotel should be. We felt pampered from beginning to end. Only hiccup was that it poured with rain. I,m sure Franco at reception can organise that better for next time !!! :)

DisappointingPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: pool, breakfast
Cons: Staff could be friendlier, air conditioning system
Location: Very central location with easy access to boat and train trips.
Check repeatedly if you want a room with a sea view as you are unlikely to get one. Communal parts of this hotel are very smart but the rooms are over priced. The staff are helpful but a little bit abrupt.

Great location, mediocre hotel for the moneyPosted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Location. Close to main square, etc. in Sorrento. Great for a home base.
Cons: The beds are like sleeping on a table. Hard and uncomfortable. No view. Have to keep curtains shut because people could walk by and look in.
Location: Everything is close by and accessible. Location superb.
The room was a bit pricey. The location was fantastic. Service was great. The room was mediocre. The beds were so hard and so uncomfortable. I felt like I was sleeping on a dining room table. We were so happy to move to next location on trip so we could have a better bed.

Nice hotel in good location.Posted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Location and friendly staff.
Cons: Interior furnishings and perhaps a few flowers on balconies.
Location: The marina is nearby, so it is easy to get to Capri or elsewhere. The main square and shops are just a few minutes' walk away.
The hotel is a little tired looking and we were disappointed that our balcony looked out on to another building, and the twin beds were not particularly comfortable. Having said that, the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. When we had a problem with our safe, somebody was sent up immediately to attend to it. The hotel is in a very good location, within a few minutes of the centre (but not too close to be noisy) and the beach and port are close by. The bus and train station are also within easy each.

Fantastic StayPosted Sep 11, 2013
Great hotel in a fantastic location. The staff were all helpful and very friendly. Especially our chambermaid, on floor 3, she was so happy and friendly! We didn't have a sea view but our balcony and view was fine, bit more private at the back than the front of the hotel. Breakfast was an adequate buffet with, again, very friendly service Would definitely stay here again,
