A hotel full of Italian charm.

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Old world charm. Quality of room and service. Clean pool area and no towels claiming sun beds though this changed as new guests arrived later in week.
Location: A short stroll to the delightful St Agata. We dined more than once at Lo Stuzzichino....highly recommend this intimate family run ristorante.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The management was well organised and this enabled us to relax and enjoy the beautiful area. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and although we had initially booked bed and breakfast, we had several lunches and evening meals here. The quality and price matched and at times surpassed that at other restaurants. We had a spacious room on the 4th floor which gave us superb views across the bay and also the surrounding green areas. Fridge included at no extra cost as were towels in the pool area.

Amazing views friendly staff very clean.

We stayed in the villa room 21. We didn't like this at first because we were not next to the bar/pool. However that evening when we saw the views, we fell in love with it and if we went back we would ask for this room again. The cleaners do a brilliant job and the staff at the staff at the hotel were brilliant. We left at 3.30am and they made breakfast just for the two of us before going! One thing that people really need to know about. Taxis are a rip off there. But if you phone the hotel on arrival to the train station they will pick you up. They have a great shuttle bus service that we used at least twice a day. A brilliant Holliday 9/10

Lovely hotel with amazing views

We stayed at Villa Romita, room was large, clean and comfortable. Slight problem in that you could hear people upstairs. Excellent breakfast. Village with great bars, shops and restaurants only a 5 min walk away. Amazing views from hotel. Shuttle bus good but you have to book early to get a seat. Staff very helpful.

Beautiful location overlooking the bay

Comfortable and clean rooms. Very attentive staff. Hotel is about 10 minute drive from the centre of Sorrento so you will need a car, or make use of the local bus service. This was my second stay in the hotel and I wouldn't hesitate in coming back for a third.

Family Stay in October

Posted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: The location.
Cons: The staff were not too helpful and looked positively put out on one occasion when we asked for towels.
Location: Easy walks in the coutryside and easy access to the coast.
We stayed at the Hermitage Hotel and were very impressed by the location. Within 5 minutes walk you are in the lovely town of St Agata offering a good range of restaurants. In October however please note that the shuttle bus only runs once a day to Sorrento. Also at this time of year the sun is so low that the pool area is not at all sunny and please note that the pool is heaps smaller than it shows in the picture! However the rooms were quiet and peaceful and we had a large and lovely balcony that gave us splendid views down to Sorrento. We did not stay in the Hermitage Hotel but in the Villa Romita just a quick jaunt up a hill which was very pleasant. We ate on one occasion in hotel restaurant and the food and service were good and reasonably priced.

Fabulous view

The Grand Hotel Hermitage was beautiful! The bedrooms and bathrooms were very large and comfortable. We had a room with a balcony and the view was amazing...Mount Vesuvius, the Bay of Naples and Sorrento below. Be it sunrise, sunset middle of the day or night, the view was there to enjoy! Hotel staff was exceptional! Antonella made arrangements for drivers, reservations, etc., no request was to much for her. Franco the shuttle driver was always available to take us to Sorrento. Just a great stay at a lovely hotel. Would go back in a heart beat!

Quiet hotel with great customer service!

This hotel was wonderful for my husband and I - it was quiet, with breathtaking views of the ocean and Sorrento! I did not realize when I made the booking that this hotel is actually a 20 minute bus ride to Sorrento (but shuttles are offered for free from the hotel), but that ended up being a great surprise - it was walking distance to a little town, San Agata, which had some pretty good restaurants! The hotel staff was the best part though - they helped us with restaurant recommendations, and even helped us figure out how to get to Taormina from their hotel. The breakfast was typical of most buffets, but had great espresso! The balcony was our favorite part of our room!

If you thought you were staying in or near Sorrento when not book this hotel you are NOT . It's set half way up a mountain in the hills and cost us 50€ for a taxi from the train station. Although they have a shuttle bus it finishes quite early so if you miss the last one back or want to spend the evening away from the hotel it's going to cost you. Having said that all the staff were really helpful and the views are quite spectacular. Ideal for adults who want to get away from it all but not for families.

Grand Hotel Hermitage

Pros: The staff are excellent, nothing s to much trouble for them. We left at 5. 30am to drive back to Naples for our flight and the put on breakfast for us.
Cons: The breakfast was a disappointment many people complained eggs and sausages tasted strange it was tinned fruit and yogurt for me
Location: Wonderful location
This hotel s just outside Sorrento, among the mountains, near the lovely village of sant agatha. The village is five minutes walk through the hotel grounds, the grounds have lots of sunflowers. The views from this hotel are wonderful and their is a free bus to take you to Sorrento, which s extremely busy so it was a welcome change to return to the hotel. The village had a three day festival which was great fun and lots of entertainment and a magical religious parade. There are nice walks around the area and an old monestry. The hotel has a swimming pool plenty of loungers and a restaurant is open all day for food or drinks. Lots of other holiday folk seem to return to this hotel on a yearly basis most folk seemed to be irish

Grand Hotel Hermitage

Great hotel with a lovely staff. The view of the water from the balcony of our room was the perfect place to have a few glasses of wine. The pool was great if you wanted to hand out there for the day, or a great place to cool down after a day trip. Food was good and reasonably priced. It is also an easy walk to the St Agatha (the city near by) where there is shopping, and lots of restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in that part of Italy.
