Lovely hotel but don't go Half BoardPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Views and the shuttle bus into town was excellent
Cons: The food and a vending machine for drinks and snacks would be an advantage
Location: Local railway /bus station giving easy access to Pompei, Naples,mAmalfi Coast and so on
Beautiful reception 5*, lovely but clinical throughout. Beautiful pool area but snack bar closed due to bad weather although it was 26degrees!! We went half board but only ate in the restaurant twice as the food was just plain weird. Lovely if ou r watching your weight as you cannot eat it, 4 courses starting with a vegetarian spread being mostly courgettes and aubergines, this was followed by pasta that was so hard you could not chew it despite asking for it to be cooked soft. The third course was mostly fish or veal again with powdered potatoes and courgettes and the dessert was a sponge cake covered in different flavoured false cream tasting of Rumbaba. The breakfast was boring and the omelette and pancake station was closed. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. All in all a beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings with a magnificent view, however I would not suggest anyone goes halfboard. Eat in town it is inexpensive with lovely authentic pizzas, pasta and so on. Would definitely go there again with a suitcase full of snacks.

Fantastic Hotel, location a bit remotePosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The staff, the facilities, the room.
Cons: A bar that opened later than 11:30pm
Location: About 2miles from the centre of Sorrento where there are loads of great restaurants, bars and shopping.
We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights and it is a beautiful hotel, the room we were in was a nice size on the same level as the pool and had a large terrace/balcony, although some guests were complaining that their room was very small with no balcony. The service in the hotel was very good but the bar closed at 11:30pm and the pool bars only served food between 12 noon - 2pm. The location of the hotel is the only negative point it is about 2.5km from Sorrento and up a fairly steep hill, it is a good 20 minutes walk down to Tasso Square and take longer going back up the hill but we didn't do that! There is however a complimentary shuttle bus which runs between the Hotel and Sorrento in the morning and again in the evening with the last bus back leaving at 11PM. If you don't take the bus back it is around 25euro for a taxi.

A very very grand hotelPosted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: the cleanliness the breakfast buffet
Location: location was good, shuttle bus was handy, and there is a small shop just down the street for all your groceries
Without a doubt the best hotel i have ever stayed in. Every minute of our stay was made special here for myself and my boyfriend. We were treated with amazing kindness and attention. All of the staff go out of their way to do what they can for you, are extremely welcoming and genuinely lovely people. We had to miss breakfast on the last day as we checked out early for our flight, and the staff insisted on making us up a wonderful breakfast pack which was ready and waiting for us at 3am. I have never been treated with such kindness by hotel staff before and would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Its a 25min walk to Sorrento's main piazza and the hotel also provide a free shuttle bus at times throughout the day & night. We found that the last shuttle bus at 11pm was handy, as after dinner, the pub and some shopping, we were too exhausted to walk back to the hotel after, so loved having this free handy service. The hotel is very grand, like its name, was exceptionally well maintained, clean and polished. Dont let the size of the hotel fool you, it is a warm and welcoming place. The fresh pancakes and omelettes at breakfast are a must! they are prepared and cooked for you exactly to how you want them, very tasty, we had them everyday. The rest of the buffet was also fantastic, everything you could possibly want. We will be staying here again in the future

an amazing hotel, great food and wine,Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: pool, shuttle bus into town, food, wine & service
Cons: You are on your own after the day staff leave do not expect any service at all after 9pm
Location: we did a cruise along the Amalfi coast, its a full day via Capri, wonderful views the whole day.
A really nice relaxing place to stay with wonderful views. the service was outstanding, as good as the best hotels in the world, with the exception of the night manager. getting his help with a small but important problem, was like trying to get blood out of a stone. I am still not sure if he was being deliberately vague. The same problem was easily fixed the next day by the front desk staff. Check if you need anything during the day !!!

Good but not 5 starPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Good location with easy access to all attractions
A nice hotel. Shuttle bus service very good. Location good. Breakfast choice excellent. Staff helpful and friendly. Little things clearly designed to cut costs stopped it from being as good as it could have been. An example is the hotel choosing which bar to open - by the pool or inside - rather than opening both and letting the customer choose which one to go to. The restaurant only had a set menu rather than an a la carte choice for customers who were not half board. 5 star hotels give all choices to the customer, this hotel did not. Having said that it was a good place to stay and I would use it again.

A pleasant stay.Posted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: A good breakfast, pleasant dining room staff. Nice pool area.
Cons: An inside bar, there was one physically in the hotel but it was not open, I guess it only opens outside the Summer months. Availability of food.
Location: In the immediate vicinity nothing. A fifteen minute walk into Sant'Agnello with the usual bars and resturaunts found in all holiday resorts.
I read reviews of this hotel on Expedia and Trip advisor so was aware of what to expect. The reviews I read appear accurate and are a reasonable reflection of this Hotel. I had stayed in Sant'Agnello before and knew it was a little distance from Sorrento, but for me this is a little too far. There is a bus shuttle which can get full pretty quick, the shuttle also serves another nearby hotel and on occasions was unable to get a seat or physically on the bus. I was charged 10 Euros a night for a crib/cot which I was not aware of, there is no charge if a third person/child shares the room and uses the same bed and bedding as the adults, with a 10 month old child this was not an option. This is a nice hotel and the majority of the staff are very helpful and efficient. I also accept it was a busy period which accounts for the overcrowded bus. The pool area is very nice offering good views of the surrounding area, no problem getting 4 loungers during this busy time. Overall I was pleased with the hotel and had a pleasant stay, for me it offered value for money apart from the 10 euro charge for the crib/cot.

Le Pace....was grand!Posted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: The service was second to none. Mara, one of the receptions helped us daily with travel bookings and info. She also helped improve my sketchy Italian.
Cons: The free shuttle bus would benefit from a ticket or pre booking system as on occasion it was full and some people could not get on.
Location: Go to Sorrento at night, it is buzzing with people, shops, bars, restaurants and even some weird street entertainers during the August holiday season.
My husband and I experienced a very relaxing and comfortable stay at the hotel. After a hideously hot, sweaty and long coach ride from Naples we were treated to a very welcome sight. The hotel was high up on a quiet hillside, it was well presented and had fabulous views out over the bay of Naples. The reception staff spoke excellent English and were patient with my attempts at Italian! Our room was clean and comfortable, it had air con, a fridge and a safe but sadly for us tea lovers....no kettle in the room! Our view was slightly obscured by another small building but we did not come to Italy to sit in a room looking out of a window, so it made no difference to us. We headed straight for the pool to cool off, where we found an adequate sized pool, sun loungers with handy shades attached to cover your head and plenty of parasols.....what more do you need for sunbathing? Breakfast offered a great selection of fresh fruit, breads, pastries, cereals, hot and cold cooked meats, freshly made omelettes and pancakes and could be washed down with juices, tea, coffee and even sparkling wine! The spa was very well equipped and our treatments were spot on....very relaxing scrub and massage. The gym was also pretty decent despite being small, wish we'd taken sports kit.

Overall stay was very good. Only dissapointment was service in restaurant at pool Level the night of special sorrentum supper event. It was a buffet style however no one providing service coming to tables to get your wine or drink orders or clearing plates. Had to keep placing dirty plates on a corner of the table to get second piatto and deserts. Staff service was virtually inexistant.
