Great sea views

Hotel was quite convenient to Sorrento, about 7 km, however finding the hotel without a GPS would be problematic, as would probably 90% of the other hotels not actually located in a town, of course these town based hotels do cost at least 3 times the price of the more remote hotels. I would stay here again, breakfast was basic continental but ok. Nice feature was the swimming pool available to guests at the related Antico castle just 300 metres up the street.

We do not recommend this hotel

Posted May 4, 2011
Service at this hotel is very poor, the receptionist does not really want to help. The breakfast, if you can call it that, contains ONE croissant, butter, jam and a prepacked toast and sometimes water. The rooms were clean, however the hallway is very loud, so we did not get much sleep. Picture of this hotel on the website is not a true picture of the hotel. Also, this hotel DOES NOT contain swimming pool, as it claims.

Not impressed

Beside our experience with southern Italy, we were not happy with the hotel either: It is located on the top of a mountain, however the view is beautiful, getting up there on the tiny roads is scary. I would not call the breakfast breakfast. We had to ask the reception for hot water every time we needed to have a shower. The receptionist was not very helpful either.

Antico Parco del Principe - Avoid at all costs

Posted Oct 7, 2010 on Hotels.com
Plusses: Clean, relatively modern room. Minuses: Located in the middle of nowhere (realistically, you WILL need a car and GPS), the staff here go out of their way to deprive you of information on how to contact them so that when your room floods in the middle of the night, which they expect, you have no choice but to wait until the morning to clean up the mess. Even when we drove to its sister hotel up the road to try to get help, we were stonwalled and told that there should have been someone at the hotel to help us. To their credit, they did clean a few shirts of mine that got wet during the flood, but I had to hang the rest of my wet clothes up around the room. The worst hotel experience I have had so far.
