Great hotelPosted Aug 23, 2013
This hotel was right down by the water. It was convenient for me. You did have some stairs to climb to get to the main strip but it was worth it. Good value for the $ an great breakfast. Staff was super helpful.

Great locationPosted Aug 11, 2013
Pros: Location is perfect for cruises
Cons: Staff could have mentioned the existence of lift to the center
Location: Sorrento is a fantastic place to visit and this little hotel is very well located
I counted over 100 steps to this nice little hotel. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful and we had a great view of the bay and Vesuvius. Room was very comfortable and Ac was very acceptable. The shower in our room was idiosyncratic, but this didn't detract from our enjoyment

Great for the portPosted Aug 7, 2013
Location is great for the port - right by ticket office and departure point. Hotel was fine for the price (but we've stayed in others this trip which were better - butch more expensive).

Vesuvius, Busses, Scooters, & StairsPosted Jul 23, 2013
Pros: The view
Cons: More respectful management, allow the guests to control the AC, better coffee, mini fridge, better towles
Location: Walk the streets of Sorrento, take a ferry to Capri and other places on the Amalfi Coast
The hotel, located at the main ferry port in Sorrento, provides a great view of Vesuvius and the coast, so it would be fantastic if you plan on going to Capri or other coastal towns by boat. However, I mainly wanted to check out Sorrento and I found the endless stream of busses and scooters and ferries noisy and a lot of deisel fumes blew into my room because I had to keep my window open when the management turned off the AC during the daytime hours--which really annoyed me. The room was small but clean. The bathroom was good, though the towels were so rough they could exfoliate the skin. To get up to the action in Sorrento you have to take a brief shuttle bus or climb a very long and steep set of stairs up a cliff--which I did a couple times a day. The walk is pretty, but there is no running back to the hotel room to get something or to take a quick nap. The breakfast is so-so. They will make a real espresso for you if you ask nicely. The staff, other than the breakfast waiters, seemed to have a bad attitude toward me, as if I did not matter because they would never see me again. I guess they should be a little nicer because reviews have a lot of power these days.

Worst hotel experience everPosted Oct 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel was not at all as represented. Our room had dirty sheets, the matresses were very uncomfortable and so flimsy they would curl up around you when you laid down. The toilet seat was broken and on the floor. No airconditioning. We purchased 2 rooms with 2 single beds and got both rooms with double beds. They said they would fix the beds by the time we got back from dinner but they did not. The day manager was gone and the night manager conveniently spoke english until we had a problem then all of a sudden he no longer understood english. We has to get our own clean sheets and remake the beds sepertate the double beds into twins beds. We checked out first thing in the morning and went to another hotel.

Stay here!!Posted Sep 17, 2012
Pros: Being treated like family and not as tourists, staff and owners spoke English very well. The great food at the restaurant. Nothing was any trouble.
Location: Right at the marina with easy access to do the required boat excursions and beach access away from the tourists
The hotel was right at the marina which is the location to take off to all your destinations by boat. I would recommend doing this rather than by road/coach. It is also close to the public/private beaches. You can go up in to town by foot or local bus. It is a great hotel to stay in to be close to what you need to do and also away from the large amount of tourists and crowds. We especially loved the fact we were treated like family and not as a number or foreign tourist. The owners and staff speak English very well. We ate at the restaurant every day after being disappointed at others. Remember to ask for Lilo.

Basic hotel better for sleeping only.Posted Aug 6, 2012
This was a clean hotel very close to the port, so very convenient for people arriving by boat. But it is a very basic hotel without any bells and whistles. For sleeping it's fine and serviceable, but not a comfortable place to hang out in. But it was not expensive and served its purpose.
close to cruisesPosted Jul 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
hotel ok, no fridge or wifi in room. no usual tea/coffee or kettle, small t.v. great location for cruises and waterfront dining, bit of a walk up many steps to main part of town. friendly staff.
