Good value - superb location

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Loved the location and the facilities
Cons: The rooms were fine for us but some might think them a bit small and it's not on the sea front. But it's very attractive - not a 'budget' hotel at all
Location: Lots of restaurants nearby and all good. Foreigners club (good views - more up market), La Lanterna (good if you're hungry).
Really good central location - close to shops and bars but not noisy (our rooms were really quiet even though they were on the first floor and next to the lift). Pool is small and cold but adequate and was never crowded but the view is spectacular (6th floor) and we were always able to find a lounger in sun or shade. Great lunches (about 10 euros) and friendly service on the pool level. The buffet breakfast had something for all of us - whether you want healthy or indulgent. Gym is small but modern and our teenagers enjoyed it. Friendly staff with good English. Lovely seating area / bar at the front of the hotel. All very modern and clean. We would go back again or recommend it to others.

Modern, classy hotel ideally situated for town

Posted Aug 23, 2014
We stayed here for 4 nights before travelling to Puglia. The hotel was excellent, the rooms were modern, there was a lovely breakfast buffet and a great bar at the front of the hotel for a cocktail before strolling into town for dinner.

Well appointed hotel in the bustle of Tasso Plaza.

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Chic, modern, in the centre of town.
Cons: Room floors could have been cleaner, but staff were friendly and efficient and bathroom felt very fresh.
Location: The city is at your feet, Pompeii and Naples a train ride away and the Amalfi coast reachable by coach, bus and boat. Do visit Marine Grande harbour.
Modern, chic hotel in the bustle of central Sorrento. Rooms are well equipped; breakfast is bountiful; and the pool bar and views from 6th floor magnificent. Double glazing shuts out all the noise, but open the balcony doors and let the City in ... . Would highly recommend.

Nice hotel, great location

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, staff, lunch, pool
Cons: Hot food at breakfast could be varied. Air conditioning in rooms is adequate but still a bit warm some nights
Location: Close to Piazza Tasso and lots to see and do. Close to bus and train stations for buses along the coast and trains towards Naples
The best thing about Hotel Plaza is definitely the location : close to Piazza Tasso, restaurants, bars, shops, the train and bus station and an easy stroll to Marina Piccolo. Marina Grande is a little further and tougher but still walkable, even in August heat. The hotel is modern, exceptionally clean and has a lovely ambience. We upgraded to a superior room which was bigger and had a nice balcony to the front. The €30 per night upgrade fee was worth it as the comfort rooms are quite small. The breakfast buffet was very good and for a short stay would be a highlight but as we stayed for 10 nights, it did get a little boring. Something different, such as fried or poached eggs instead of scrambled, would be good but I couldnlt fault the quality of the food or the service of the staff. Lunch served in the bars, although described as snacks, was surprisingly good and inexpensive. The pool is small but very welcome in the heat and there are just about enough sunbeds to go round although those by the pool have to be bagged early.

Beautiful pool and roof top bar Excellent location Best breakfast we had in Italy Close to all the action but far enough not to hear it all But walls in room are paper thin ( not good for light sleepers, ) and maids could be more thorough) but would Defenently stay again Loved it

Very nice hotel.

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: One of the bar staff, Carlo made excellent cocktails and is very friendly......a first class guy.
Location: Location is perfect for a trip to Sorrento.
We found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. on one occasion I also notice that they had to deal with some very rude guests, which they handled to in a very polite and professional manner. The rooms are modern and very clean. Breakfast more than adequate.

Excellent, central hotel with rooftop pool

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Pool, breakfast, location and staff
Cons: Tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Location: Very central, can do many trips from Sorrento. Day trip to Capri was excellent. Positano is a must for the day.
Terrific stay for a week in Sorrento. Very central and excellent pool on the roof top, with pool towels provided. Staff very friendly and breakfast was plentiful. Rooms were comfortable, but not all have balconies so make sure you ask for one when booking.
