DisappointingPosted Aug 15, 2014
We had a family room that was very small! Breakfast was very disappointing. Each day there was a problem with a single small toaster! The coffee machine was also temperamental! The coffee was disgusting. Positives were the location, the staff were very polite and helpful and the rooms were clean.

Nice Overnight StayPosted Aug 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall enjoyed our overnight stay at Hotel Spicey. The room itself was spacious, although the bathroom is VERY tiny compared to American Standard but totally workable. The breakfast was nice and plentiful, loved the variety of items...not all pastry which was very refreshing! Getting into the hotel itself off the road and then parking was a nightmare, but you have to expect small lots and entrance off a tiny busy road into account in Sorrento. Location is not great if you are trying to get back and forth into Sorrento.

hotel spicy - July 1, 2014Posted Jul 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was a charming little hotel off the beaten path of Sorrento. Very accommodating staff. The hotel had a delicious morning spread as well. Very nice moderatelyriced hotel. Only issue is that it is walking distance to only two little restaurants AND NOTHING ELSE. If you know anything about Sorrento, parking is scarce if non-eziatant so those restaurants were our only options.

Amazing hotelPosted Jun 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very very nice place to stay. We were looked after extremely well by their courteous extremely soft spoken and helpful staff. Rooms were a tad small but bathrooms a disaster. Food was a gastronomic delight. Very large and tasty spread. Overall I would definitely visit again

Paris metro smells better!Posted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Spicy Hotel has a great location and wants to do well but needs to try harder.First by giving the customers what they pay for and listen to the voice of the customer and not be totally dismissive. When you pay for a room that can accommodate three guests, you paid for extra space as a couple. The Management still believes that room 201 is a three beds room!! The toilets look clean-ish but the smell of urine is everywhere...so can't be that clean. The breakfast has no sign of any fruit... avoid breakfast and prefer sitting at a table in a cafe in the center of Sorrento. The hotel is a no second visit for me.

Far away from SorrentoPosted May 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel was clean, modern and acceptable for budget travelers. Location to downtown Sorrento and Italian bus service was very, very unreliable. No sidewalk to provide option to walk. Local taxi to/from Sorrento is very expensive.

Too far from Sorrento town centrePosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is good for what you pay, they have renovated the downstairs common areas and it looks great- it is too far away from the town centre and the taxis charge too much. I'd gladly stay there again if they had a cheap shuttle service but next time I would fork out the extra and stay closer to town! It looks as though they have gotten half way through updating the rooms and have given up or run out of money... Not bad for a young back packer, I was a bit miffed that they didn't have any wine glasses and gave us plastic cups to drink our wine.

2 nights in SorrentoPosted May 11, 2014
Pros: The view was very nice and the rooms a nice size.
Cons: the walk to get the bus you had to cross a very busy highway up hill on a busy highway, they need a stop in front or drive way. Dirty Court yard.
Location: less than 3 miles to the main street of town and Bus is easy only 1.30 euro. above the hotel you can walk about 5 minute to grocery and café.
We had a wonderful time at the hotel, the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was lovely more like an extravagate continental breakfast rather than a full buffet.

Excellent Value!Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: Nothing, bearing in mind it is not really possible for the staff to move it closer to the centre of town!
The only reason I would not give this Hotel 5 out of 5 is because those who consider booking it, need to understand that the location would not be ideal for a lot of people. The location is nice, overlooking the Bay of Naples, but it's quite a walk from the centre of town. Also, much of the winding road you have to walk along to get to and from it has no pavements which can make it a little nervy with the traffic. This of course can't really be blamed on those who run the hotel and work there. Everything else was excellent, and I have to say my experience of the staff there was all positive - very friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for me. The room was always clean and comfortable
