Last minute booking - good choicePosted Oct 5, 2013
Pros: Great location and good firm bed. Blinds black out brilliantly if you want a long lie in!
Cons: The plumbing as mentioned was really noisy - think we were an extension to the origianal hotel.
Location: Great location, easy walk to the centre of Sorrento, but quiet at night so no problem. 5 minutes walk from fantastic food and drinks establishments
Great location, easy reach of Tasso Square where we go regularly for meals / drinks. Food - only had breakfast which was good. Pool /area was clean and functional and small bar was great for snacks and drinks. All in all a good experience, however plumbing was somewhat noisy (We had Room 416, if adjoining rooms had a shower or flushed it was like being in the same room or being next to Niagra Falls). Generally for the more mature person, over 45's we think.

Typical European HotelPosted Oct 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel had all the basic necessities but there was an atmosphere of run-downness. I had a room on the first floor and it was right on the street. I paid extra for a sea view but couldnt see anything. It probably would have been better on a higher floor. The staff were hit and miss, some would help us out and others wouldn't. I would NOT recommend this hotel unless you get it extremely cheap. Then you will get what you pay for and not be disappointed.

Friendly service but voted most stylish hotel 1973Posted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Villa Maria has a great location; it's within comfortable walking distance of just about everything you'll need in Sorrento. It's got a pool, which is beautiful, and the staff is very helpful--they'll help you find parking, deal with tour companies that don't show up, and generally be very friendly. That said: The hotel itself is very dated. If you're looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay, but don't care about that kind of stuff, awesome (I'm in that camp). But if you care about the LOOK of a hotel, this probably isn't for you.

Pros : Location , Very close to all the happeninings. Cons: 1 ) No parking , You should consider 20 euro aday parking in your budget. 2) No free wifi in the room . It costs you 10 euro a day. 3 ) Old furniture in the Lobby area.

Excellent location on Main Street, 5 min walk to Tasso sq. Small rooms with old bathrooms, however sufficient for in and our purposes. Limited wi fi only available in lobby

Villa Maria, be more honestPosted May 29, 2013
Cons: No balcony, not impressed with some of the staff
Location: Ideal, just off the main street Corso Italia, lovely walk into the centre
We booked & paid for a room with a mountain view. What we got when we arrived was something quite different, room with a seaview, from a window that you had to kneel on the floor to look out, a portal oval shape....was furious. Asked for another room, got one with a bigger window with a view of the apartments opposite. The jacuzzi is not operational as told by a member of staff that they never get asked for it so it was not kept in operation, gutted as the view was amazing from the top. I loved the gentleman who was in charge of the restaurant/breakfast area, just try to speak a little of the language & it goes a long way. Overall a great location just off the main Corso Italia, very clean & pleasant atmosphere.

A great value for money allrounder hotelPosted Sep 9, 2012
Pros: Central location
Cons: Traffic noise at times a little annoying
Very well located in terms of getting to all amenities, on bus route and very efficient taxi service. Very well rounded hotel for both sightseeing or for just a relaxing time. Would use this hotel in the future.

Overall....good hotel. Not amazing...but sufficient. The Internet situation is sub-par. Only available in the lobby and even there the service was not dependable.
