Great viewsPosted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: The views
Cons: A warm welcome. Or even just a welcome. Felt like we were doing them a favor staying there.
Location: Location is far up the hill out of town. There was nothing to do nearby
A little far out of town. Hotel staff were not pleasant. Sorrento is a gorgeous place. Pick a hotel closer in to town.

Very nice hotel with a million dollar view of Sorrento and the Bay of Naples. Rooms were very reasonably priced and service was very good. The food in the restaurant was good, I especially enjoyed the salt baked fish. I wish the shower was a little bit bigger.

Il Nido hotel in June 2013Posted Jun 25, 2013
Pros: The Restaurant , the view and the staff.
Cons: Cannot walk to town from it but good shuttle service
Location: In the hills behind Sorrento, below the road to the Amalfi coast
This is a nice hotel out of town from Sorrento ( 10kms) but very well serviced by an hourly shuttle. We didn't have a car and relied on the shuttle service which was superb. Arriving in Sorrento by Ferry or by Train required a taxi ride initially ( Euro 25.00) but after that we relied on the shuttle or the local bus which has a stop near the hotel The hotel restaurant is top class both for breakfast and for dinner which can be taken on the outside deck, enjoying the view on the bay of Naples. The staff is very friendly and provided helpful tips for sightseeing around Sorrento, the Amalfi coast and Capri. I would rate the quality/price ratio of this hotel as excellent . One note: do not try and catch the Amalfi coast bus towards Amalfi at the hotel. It is always full. Go back in town with the shuttle to catch it at the train station.

Great Views!Posted Jun 7, 2013
We spent two nights at Il Nido, and really enjoyed our stay. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. We could tell that everyone there is a hard worker. The view from our room was outstanding, as was the one from the dining room. Breakfast was good, the highlight being the fresh squeezed orange juice. We had dinner both nights in the dining room, and both were very good. A convenient shuttle got us in to town in the morning, and picks up until 11:30pm. The city bus also runs right by the hotel. The only inconvenience we had was a lack of electrical outlets in the room. I had to charge my tablet overnight in the bathroom. But, that's a small thing in an overall wonderful stay.

Lovely hotel with stunning view and good breakfastPosted May 29, 2013
Maybe the best hotel we stayed at on our Italy trip. Stunning view of the coast. It's a ways from town, but they offer shuttle service most of the day. A real breakfast buffet is included- eggs, toast, fruit, potatoes, sausage and drinks. Room was clean and comfortable. Definitely a lot to offer at such a reasonable rate.

Il NidoPosted May 21, 2013
Outstanding view from hotel. Nice to be out of the Sorrento bustle. Restaurant food was very good and we ate there 80% of the time. Gianni was super helpful. The only downside is that the bathroom seemed a bit dated, the tub was very narrow and hotel room could use an update.

Nice, quiet hotel with free parkingPosted May 19, 2013
Pros: Free shuttle, parking, breakfast and views.
Clean quiet hotel with free parking and great view of Sorrento and the sea. The free shuttle to Sorrento is a necessity but it runs from morning into the late evening, every hour, and is very convenient. We stayed two nights in May and it was very enjoyable. Family run with friendly staff and very good breakfast.

Great family owned hotel & restaurantPosted Apr 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a great stay at this hotel. Though located out of town the shuttle service was very convenient and in town would be very congetsted it was nice to "get away" at the end of the day. On site restaurant, rooms included breakfast one of the best of the trip, dinners were great also. Ocean view rooms wonderful to wake up and go to bed viewing the coast, well worth it. Staff and owners wonderful and helpful. Thank you, Gianni, for making our stay one to remember. Make sure you book at this location there is another Hotel with the same name in the area.

Nice stopPosted Mar 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed breakfast and dinner here. Don''t let the distance from town dissuade you from staying here. A free hourly shuttle allows you to leave your car here safely and for free and enjoy a ride to town with the friendly local shuttle driver. Very clean with great vistas. Would return and stay longer.

Charming hotelPosted Jan 8, 2013
Had to try this hotel after seeing so many 5 star reviews. Definitely deserves these. Plus points are the views, the free shuttle bus, the wi-fi, the food in the restaurant and the sheer helpfulness of the owners/ staff. Minus points are the slightly dated nature of the hotel and a problem we had with the plumbing. Overall however this hotel is excellent value for money.
