“It is the "Golden View"”
We stayed at La Vue D'Or 3 days from May 21-24. The view is just wonderful. The room we were given was actually for 3 people and were told they would move our luggage into another room the next day. That was a little inconvenient, but we did have a view of the sea, and the next day that room was just as good also with a spectacular view. The Staff was very friendly and helpful; always ready to answer our questions. The thing that is very important is the fact that there is a shuttle which operates in the morning hours, and then again in the evening hours until 10:30-11:30pm. If you plan your day trips right, the shuttle works perfectly.(Approx. a 15 min. ride) However, to walk to the center of town to Sorrento, the hotel is just too far away. Plus, there is a city bus service, but the times aren't always consistent. The hotel pool is very nice and there is a sun deck which makes for a very relaxed setting. We did not try the restaurant at the hotel, but we did have cappucinos from the bar which were good. The thing that needs improvement is the breakfast. It was just okay, and the items weren't always stocked fast enough. Just a note -- we had some really good dinners. The restaurants I would recommend are "Bagni Delfino" and "The Garden" in Sorrento. Good seafood, veal, and pastas.
“Great place to visit”
Wonderful place to visit. Hotel made us feel like family. Beautiful view of the bay of Naples and excellent food in hotel. Free shuttle fron Sorrento to hotel however a little difficult to find. Wonderful people on staff and the country side was great.. Stay here you'll love it. The room was a bit dated but very clean and well taken care of. No clock in the room which may be a personal thing on my part.. All in all .. I recommend it

Wonderful location. Far from the town center but they have an hourly bus service starting at 8:30 up until 11:30.
“Beautiful 3star hotel with a charming and helpful staff!”
My husband and I stayed here with my 80 yr old mother the first weekend of May. The reasons we picked this hotel were because of price, location, view, resturant/bar, free shuttle, parking available, and elevator. I almost did not book this hotel because there were several bad food reviews. I totally disagree with this! Breakfast was a typical European spread with many choices. Dinner was served had a different menu each night with 10 different options and light dessert. Each night you enjoy a good wine, white table cloths and waiter coats, candlelite, good food, and a stunning view of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. After a long day of sightseeing . . .it was perfect! The hotel has had a recent facelift and was bright and welcoming. The rooms were good sized with a large wardrobe with safe, small balcony, and large bath. The only complaint we had was that the beds were a bit uncomfortable (but we sleep on a Tempurpedic, and all beds suffer by comparison!). We would definatley recommend this hotel and will go back.
