Lovely hotel, can't fault it!Posted Aug 1, 2015
The staff are incredibly friendly and are all multilingual. The hotel is fairly secluded unless you have your own transport but there is a great, complimentary shuttle service provided by the hotel that enables you to get around. The hotel's food is great, a little highly priced but you get what you pay for. Breakfast is great, a variety of foods that should suit most people. We had a wonderful view of the bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius from our room.

Hotel well position to explore Amalfi CoastPosted Jul 28, 2015
Nice hotel that has recently been refurbished with more modern style furnishings and decor. Positioned with commanding view of the Bay of Napoli, although not rooms will benefit. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful with good minibus service to nearby train station (to Sorrento) and town (Vico Equensa). Rooms are very clean and functional. Hotel food is excellent but possibly limited in menu if you have dislike seafood. Hotel pool is small but great sun lounging area looking out over the Bay towards Napoli. Overall a great place to explore the Amalfi area but be prepared for busy coast roads especially during the peak of summer/Italian holiday periods. Pompeii/Herculaneum is about 40 mins away by car and Sorrento about 20 mins by train from the nearby station.

Fantastic Stay - ParadisePosted Jun 30, 2015
When we arrived we realised that the hotel was in a bit of an awkward place to get to, we were quite worried about getting around. The roads aren't easy to drive on. The shuttle service that the hotel runs is brilliant, they take you to the train station, the beach and other places. This service was very convenient and we were always given the times we requested! Being out of the way was quiet and meant a truly amazing view! Pool are is very restful! No Complaints about this stay!!! Staff are lovely and the rooms and food are very very good.

Wonderful experiencePosted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: Location, service, comfort, cleanliness, food.
Cons: Advertising that a pasta dish may be available alongside the somewhat specialized and limited evening menu - just ask!.
Location: High up the hill overlooking the Bay - superb. Above a busy road - traffic did not disturb us , but we were not on the bay side of the hotel
Stayed with a friend for a week from 15th - 22nd June. The setting is idyllic with beautiful views across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. All the reception staff are willing and obliging - nothing is too much trouble. This is a small stylish hotel - so fine for families with teens but not younger. The swimming pool is immaculate and taking a dip next to the area where veg is grown and lemon trees sway gently in the breeze is so.....cool! The shuttle service always seems to be available (other than between 1.0 and 5.00 as usual in Italy) so it is easy to travel on the train anywhere between Sorrento and Naples. Reception book tickets for tours, sell train tickets, in general make life easy!

Really lovely view from the terrace. Good hotel overall and useful to have free shuttlebus to train stations and nearby locations.

Relaxing place with a wonderful viewPosted May 28, 2015
Pros: Place, views, food, rooms.
Cons: Location should be more accurate with instructions how to get there. We took a walk from Siano railway station and had to ask people several times.
We (me and my wife) stayed here just for one day during our journey from Rome to Sorento. Our intention was to see Sorrento and Vico Equense. We made our trip walking from Siano to Sorrento with a short break in Torre Barbara hotel. I can say what it was a very good choice. It is definitely a place where one can relax and enjoy the nature. Amazing views, air. Very nice hotel and service. Just what we needed to recover from previous hiking.

A perfect hotel for our holidayPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: the staff, the ambience, the views, the food, and the overall care the staff took of us
Cons: cant think of anything
Location: 10 kms from Sorrento, whilst close to the road, not a problem for us. Easy to get to Capri, Naples, Vesuvius, Pompeii / Herculaneum, Positano, Amalfi
On arrival met with very friendly reception staff, shown to a well fitted, clean and comfortable room, before having a lunch on the terrace. At every point in our 7 days at Torre Barbara, all the staff were fantastic. The food was exceptional, and we were really well looked after by the restaurant team, in terms of food and wine choices, whilst on the terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius, with evening sunsets. As a comparison, we ate out in Sorrento town one night, at one of the smartest hotels on the cliff top (where rooms cost probably more than 5 x that of Barbara!) - food was nowhere near as good as Barbara, yet cost twice as much! Sorrento town was 10 minutes away on the train, with the hotel taking us to the station and collecting us every time, so all very easy. Would I go to the Barbara again - YES.

Schoenes Hotel mit Blick auf den VesuvPosted May 10, 2015
Pros: Freundliches Personal

Spectacular viewPosted Oct 6, 2014
We had a good stay in this hotel, with the most spectacular view across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. The staff were very attentive, rooms spotlessly clean and food good. The only real downside was the noise from the very busy road.
