Pros: Staff, location, terrace
Cons: Maybe have the shuttle until 10:30 when the restaurant closes?
Location: You can get anywhere-Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii. Or Capri. Or, via Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast. Fantastic location to cover a lot of ground.
The entire staff -from the people at the desk to the cleaning staff - are fabulous. They all made my stay so easy and pleasant. The shuttle was great - I was glad to use public transportation. But, just a tip if you are going to use it exclusively: have a mobile that works in Italy so you have more flexibility. The location is wonderful, especially if you are planning to see a lot of different parts of Campania. The terrace where you have breakfast (and dinner if you'd like) provides an amazing view. This is how we should all start our day! And the food is very good if you don't feel like going to a crowded restaurant for dinner. I would *definitely* recommend it to a friend and hope to return myself some day!

Location Is Great If Your Driving InPosted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: Location, Reasonable Rates, Parking and Free WiFi. View, Helpfulness of Staff, Great feel, Very adequate breakfasts.
Cons: A little better knowledge of the staff of local eating establishments.
Location: Sorrento, Capri daytrips, Amalfi coast, Pompeii/Herculaneum, National Museum in Naples
Great experience. Hotel staff were very helpful, room rates for the location were very good, free transportation to the rail stop (Seiano) that takes you to the sights at Pompeii and Herculaneum, Nat Museum downtown Naples, etc. and port of Seiano (Boat to Capri), all provided by Marco, who is an absolute gem. The hotel is itself worthy of a stay and just kicking back and enjoying the view of The Bay Of Naples and Vesuvius. It's a very short distance from Sorrento, however driving there is not a great idea as it is extremely crowded and your flirting with one of the notorious ZTL's there. Great access from A1/A3/SS145 when driving in from Rome. Accessible to drives on the Amalfi coast. The only downside is you have no close options for eating out without driving a bit in the tight traffic and near non existent parking.

Great for everyone.Posted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: The staff !. views from the terrace !
Cons: No, Fresh Italian coffee for breakfast .
Location: you will need to be dropped off and picked up from Sieano station.10 minutes from Sorrento centre. Bus stops outside the hotel for Naples airport.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, nothing was too much for the staff .

Wonderful hotel with amazing staff.Posted Jun 10, 2013
This a very wonderful hotel. The staff is what make it so special. It is not in the town of Vico Equense but is close. There is a shuttle to take you to the train station. However, if you do not mind driving in Italy, a car would be helpful. The food at the hotel was great and inexpensive compared to some of the restaurants.

nice location and view but poor breakfastPosted Sep 1, 2012 on Hotels.com
A lovely hotel on a hill with a great view of the bay. Clean rooms and helpful staff and decent value for money for the area considering it is out of the Sorrento immediate area.Only 10 mins by car to Sorrento. Guests should have a car tho as the hotel is difficult to get to and up a very steep hill. The view from the pool/patio is outstanding. Sadly the breakfast is very poor..mainly cake, cold cuts and limited cereals all serverd on the open terrace and subject to flies etc. The Sea View restuarant meanwhile in the evening was very expensive and not very good food at all..E16 for a plate of ravioli that wouldnt feed a child. The service was also rubbish.

very friendly and nice placePosted Jul 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
The best hotel on our trip, with a familiar, individuell and very friendly service / individual shuttle service / good breakfarst buffet in the garden with a nice view / nice and clean rooms, but for large people over 1,90 m the beds might be a little bit small.

Even better than the first timePosted Jun 28, 2012
Pros: Relaxing on the terrace and swimming in the pool while gazing across the bay at Mt. Vesuvio.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
Location: The location is a perfect jumping off point for the rest of the Sorrentine peninsula, but only if you have a car
My wife and I have been dreaming of our return to the Hotel Torre Barbara since our last stay there three years ago. This latest stay has confirmed our conviction that this is one of the loveliest hotels you will find in all of Italy. It is located in a hopelessly romantic spot, with wonderful views across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvio. The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful, with overflowing flowers, fruit and fig trees, and an expansive terrace where one can relax and take it all in. The staff could not be more accomodating; they make you feel as though you are one of the family without ever being overbearing. Raffaella especially goes out of her way to ensure that your time at the Hotel Torre Barbara is special, and she delivers. My wife and I have travelled extensively throughout Italy, and this is the one hotel that we will continue to return to as often as we can. We promise, you will not be disappointed with this little slice of heaven on the Sorrentine Peninsula.

Beautiful views of Vesuvius and Naples!Posted Dec 2, 2011
This is a charming hotel on the windy narrow road along the Pamphili coast. We had a car, which made it easy (yet interesting!) to visit the lovely nearby towns: Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii. All highly recommend! The vies and breakfast on the veranda were amazing!
