The Villa Oriana Relais is a piece of magic in Sorrento. If you are considering it, please do yourself a favor and give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

We could not stayPosted Jun 12, 2014
When we arrived we were greeted very warmly by a very nice young lady. It was after 2pm and our room was still ready. When we entered the room which was 2 flights of stairs down from the main lobby, Our faces dropped. It was tiny dark, and very old and uncomfortable . The Villa is really not a hotel, more a bed and breakfast. No pool, no night staff, Very difficult to get to town or anywhere without a car. We had a non refundable booking through Expedia. Eventually they were nice enough to move us to a small guest house in town, which if had booked directly would have been half the price, but still we were much happier there.

Stunning place to stayPosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had a lovely few days in this beautiful guest house, the staff could not have been more helpful and the food was delicious. Amazing views with spotless rooms made this a fantastic choice!

Very Attentive and Caring StaffPosted May 19, 2014
Pros: One felt part of the 'family' of guests. The breakfast was of a very high standard and you will be treated to very excellent home-mades.
Cons: Communication regarding the room that one is likely to get. Guests should pay less for the room that we were given-its not 'de-lux'.
Location: Set in beautiful gardens it is a twenty minute walk out of Sorrento or a short bus ride. (The bus ticketing system is not user-friendly or cheap)
We were given a room at the bottom of the stairs which was not of the standard of the other 'de-lux' rooms which got us off on the wrong foot as it was nicely decorated but dark and cold, also, it had not been prepped properly (no soap or drinking beakers and a little stain on the floor of the bathroom); why should we who were to be staying a week get this room when some guests ( staying fewer days ) get nicer rooms when we were paying the same? We got a much better room half way through our stay when one became available as the very caring staff became aware of our dissatisfaction. Once into the better room we were much happier and enjoyed our stay. Tea/coffee and cake was provided in the afternoon if one happened to be in the hotel on the sunbathing roof area which was a pleasing touch and this area provided an excellent relaxing space with deck chairs and sun-loungers. The quality of the food provided was excellent and made on the premises very early in the morning; one could very easily eat too much if you are keen on cake for breakfast.

Beautiful hotelPosted Apr 25, 2014
Cons: It would have been better if the hot tub was available to use (we went the week before Easter)
A beautiful, peaceful hotel about 20 minute walk from the bustle of Sorrento. Set in a lemon and orange grove it is a little oasis. Everything. It has pretty rooms and the most amazing breakfasts, with homemade quiches, bread and cakes. Maria and the rest of the staff are lovely and very helpful.

wonderful!Posted Feb 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
We just got home from our wonderful trip in Sorrento. We stayed here and it was my mom, husband and 6 month old Nicolas. The number one reason to stay here is hospitality. Everyone was so wonderful and we felt like part of the family. If you need another reason then it's the food and view. Maria makes everything fresh every morning and it is scrumptious. Her place sits on a hill among lemon and orange trees and the view is spectacular. We were very sad to leave but I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Great staff!Posted Oct 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff and owner were great! Greeted with chocolate cake and lemonade at check in. The grounds were beautiful and the hotel very secure. We had 3 restaurants that offered free car which was very convenient since the hotel is atop a hill and a bit of a hike from town. Room was big and nice with its own terrace. Bit noisy in the am since we were under kitchen. Would stay here again!

FantasticPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: all of it
Simply the best in hospitality (warm, accommodating hosts), views (breathtaking ocean and Mt. Vesuvius views), and breakfast (tarts, pastries, and juice). We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Maria and her team made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived to the morning we left. Would go back again tomorrow
