Pros: The children's activities
Cons: Maintenance in the rooms
Location: there is a great little restaurant across from the hotel. This hotel is very hard to find. we had 2 GPS systems and we still had trouble.
This is more of a KOA than a hotel. It is a very rustic cabin with basically a hot plate and a sink. That being said it was close to what we expected but disappointing overall. The equipment was in disrepair and the basic items like dishwashing detergent were not included. This hotel is far from the beach so do not let Google maps fool you. It is quite a trek from the room to the beach let alone climbing the thousands of steps to get back to your room at the end of the day.

Hotel In Meta

Pros: The views from balcony, quiet area and had parking available.
Cons: The water temp and pressure. Bath linen was old and was not replaced daily. No washing facilities available.
Location: Good food near by.Difficult to get to most things the train is at least 20 min walk. The not very clean beach is about a 10 min walk down stairs.
We are a family of 5. Hot water did not work properly and no water pressure, had to pay for wifi which then did not even work (waste of money). Rooms not very big. My first experience driving in Italy and the hotel difficult to get to with the tightest street we seen during our entire trip to Italy, had to pull te car mirror in to get trough. The views from the balcony outside our room were amazing and made up for the other shortcomings of the resort. There is an outstanding little restaurant near by where we got the best service of any restaurant in Italy called which also made our trip.

2week holiday, awful

Pros: The day we left.
Cons: Every thing from the reception upwards. How it had a four stars rating on its logo I can't figure out.
Location: 10/15 minute severe up hill walk from the beach. One basic restaurant within 100 metres of it. Nothing much to do there.
Up hill to hotel reception and 35 steps then to bungalow as well as the up hill sloping ground. Not for the faint hearted or infirm or poor in health. Poor taxi service to train station 1.5 km away @ 2 to 10€ depending on the company. Cleanliness poor, torn cover on , plastic balcony table and chairs regularly lifted by adjoining guests! Lighting very poor, only two power plugs in the bungalow. Had to request extra lighting. Used very much by students as a hostel when we were there and that is basically what it is

A real Gem

Pros: Pool facilities great, fantastic views, also parking available.
Cons: Loads of steps to climb but great if you are. Keeping fit.
Location: Location in a quiet area of Sorrento, access to Sorrento can be made via train, bus or car. Supermarkets close by.
We were situated at the bottom chalets, lots of steps to climb. This was compensated by the view glorious, the pool facilities which we all loved with slides and 3 pools, great air conditioning, large chalet with one double bedroom, then 4singles in room with closed off kitchen area and separate bathroom with a shower, large terrace with table and chairs overlooking the sea so you could see the boats coming in to the beach area. Meta is on a steep hill there is access to the beach area and restaurants in the surrounding area Piano De Sorrento about 1/2 hour walk ( best for shopping). Supermarkets close by. Watch out for mosquito's take repellent.

A real italian holiday

Pros: Kids loved the pool, water slides and the table tennis tables. It was always easy to get a sun lounger to lie on for the parents!
Location: Located up along a hillside. A lot of steps down to the beach but worth it.
The staff were extremely helpful. When we had a problem with the door handle they had it fixed in 10mins. They were very helpful with local information and travel tips. They hotel had a very friendly atmosphere and the facilities such as the pool were perfectly clean and well maintained. The layout of the bungalows provided sufficient privacy and were located along the hillside creating great character and fabulous views. The best restaurant around is located just outside the entrance.
