“Surprisingly great hotel”

Choosing a non-chain hotel, from hundreds of miles away, is always a worry. Because we weren't going to stay long, we decided to try the Waterford. The price and location were right. What a pleasant surprise!! Staff were friendly, the rooms recently remodeled and clean, and they actually GIVE you a sit-down buffet breakfast. This far surpasses any chain hotel we've stayed at in years. I've never bothered to review a hotel before but couldn't wait to recommend it to others who might be considering the hotel - do it! You won't regret it.

“Good for the price.”

Older hotel, but well maintained and somewhat updated. Restaurant was very nice. Good prices and a free hot breakfast a plus. Would go back again.

“Great people at the desk”

We forgot my grandson's Spiderman pillow and the gal at the Desk went out the door and chased my car. Debbie wasn't fast enough, so she mailed it to us. Our 4 year old grandson really appreciated that.

“Wonderful Find”

I loved this hotel. It was very well kept and updated. I loved the restaurant. Very cozy with a fireplace and TV's. My waiter was excellant. Food very good. My hotel room was modern, clean and spacious. Staff at desk were helpful. I was visiting South Bend to see family. I loved the hotel so much, I brought some of my family members over to show them the hotel, in case they ever needed to suggest it to others.

Area recommendations

South Ben is full of nice areas. All the parks are great. Visit the Notre Dame campu of course. Also, consider visiting Grace Point Church on Ash Rd. if you are looking for a church.
