Great location, but meh.

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Room was sooooo hot on the second floor. Had to turn off heat and open a window in the middle of winter! Bathroom surrounds are starting to get mold. Hallways, neighbors, upstairs were loud loud loud. Didn't seem too private. Room was clean, comfy, and suited our needs fine, otherwise. Staff were great too.

Great location close to downtown!

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Pros: Workout room, coffee in lobby in morning, cookies in afternoon, size of the room was good
Location: Right off the highway and just a few miles to downtown! Plus there were markets, coffee shops & restaurants right down the street. Great location!
Spacious rooms in a great location close to downtown and right down the street from several stores, markets, coffee shops and restaurants. Very accessible. Spacious rooms - nice that the room had a desk and chair so I could do work.

Not your typical Holiday Inn

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Cons: Cleanliness and updated amenities
While the basic facility was standard of a Holiday Inn, the room was not. When I went into the room, I found the window slightly open and the wind howling. I went to close the window and found the brackets to be broken and the window loosely placed in the sill. After much struggling, I was able to get the window closed and latched. Later that evening as I was getting into bed I noticed my sheets had an off smell to them. They smelled like they had been used and put back on the bed without being cleaned. I eventually removed the sheets, but still could not get rid of the smell and the feeling of the bed being unclean. You may wonder why I didn't report this immediately, but I'm sure many of you have been in a position where it's 11pm and all you want to do is get some sleep before a big day. The last thing I wanted to do was to switch rooms at 11:30 at night. Finally, I filled out a survey with my contact information upon my departure, but never heard back from anyone at the hotel.

People skills need improvement

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: location, cleanliness
Cons: people skills from staff at front desk and Harpers restaurant!
First impressions are very important and I was not impressed when I walked up to the front desk to check in (no smile, nor the usual friendliness I now expect everywhere in the US) . That being said, she was efficient and did her job well. She warmed up to me and answered my questions politely and helpfully. Same negative first impression at breakfast the next day, except the waiter's attitude did not improve...Not a nice way to start the day for me! That being said, the room was great, the location was great (visiting a college in Burlington with my son) and we would definitely stay there again!

Excellent séjour

Posted Oct 20, 2014

Wedding Trip Weekend

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: My bed was the best part of this hotel stay.
Cons: Limited counter space, safety handles in the tub...mine was located at the back of the tub.
Location: Easy access to the interstate and to downtown Burlington.
Nothing much to say about this hotel. Very boring room.

Nice hotel.

Posted Oct 14, 2014
by reserving via internet, I did not get a receipt. I did not think of this, but we were withheld at the border because they did not believe we were in the USA for over 48 hours (Canadian)....

Good for visiting a child at UVM.

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: Close to UVM, snacks in lobby and a nice looking pool.
Cons: Better clean up of the rooms and a fan in the bathroom.
Location: It is close to the university and a shopping mall.
The hotel lobby was warm and inviting. The room could have been cleaner. We found a pair of socks left from previous guests under the bed. There was no fan in the bathroom which is always helpful. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet enough to get a good night sleep.
