This is a very nice and modern hotel in the eastern downtown. It's close (5 min. walking) to the next metro station and has good restaurants and shopping possibilities near the hotel.
Don't expect to much from the staff regarding talking to you, as their English is very, but very poor. That really surprises me, as even the concierge has problems to understand you. It's very common that Chinese people don't understand a single word of English.

I live in Beijing, but for holiday, I decided to "staycation" in a different part of the city. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Lake View Hotel and had an excellent time. The view of the lake was amazing, the room was comfortable, and the swimming pool was excellent. The hotel was a little difficult to get to/from by walking, since Pearl Market and the subway are about 20 minutes away, and there wasn't much in the way of western restaurants or coffee shops nearby. But overall, the experience was lovely and we would like to stay there again sometime.

The hotel is a little bit old. The furniture need to be changed. The handheld faucet in the bathroom leaks so badly. The location is not so good. It was hard to get taxi from the hotel to anywhere. Overall it is ok.

"Reasonably priced hotel with polite helpful staff"
Cheerrful polite reception, bathroom had some mould in corners and breakfast coffee was cold. Fruit juice was acttually orange squash! Generally a good experience with helpful staff although an english speaking person in the main restaurant would helped avoid mistakes. Good for the price range adjaccent to much more expensive hotels.

South Chaoyang encompasses an ever increasing number of high-rise offices, modern apartments, and hotels. The chaotic yet festive Panjiayuan weekend flea market features 3,000 stalls of traditional crafts, antiques, pottery, trinkets, and jewelry. Just as alluring is Beijing’s Curio City of second-hand stalls stacked with antiques, pottery, paintings, carvings, furniture, and jade.
