Great hotel with good locationPosted May 29, 2013
Wonderful staff, great rooms, great experience. Right on the beach, with Anclote surf break right in front. Other waves available by quick boat ride.

Great accommodations but staff sets Cinco apartPosted Apr 23, 2013
Pros: Staff, views from the room, beachside location.
Cons: Adjacent beach not great for wading or swimming (too rocky) with the kids.
Location: Beautiful beach. Great restaurants. Quiet town. Close (by car) to other great beaches.
We're a family of four, including two pre-teen kids. We all loved our stay at Hotel Cinco. We enjoyed spectacular views from our huge, luxurious, ocean-front room (I think they're all ocean-front rooms). The rooftop pool and a beach-side pool were warm and clean. But the best thing about Hotel Cinco is the staff. Managers Roberto and Horacio could not have been friendlier or more helpful. As much as any hotel staff we've encountered, these guys were doggedly interested in making sure we had a great time, were comfortable, and had whatever we needed. So professional and gracious. The staff at the roof-top restaurant, where we enjoyed many great breakfasts, were also exceptionally accommodating and friendly. Everyone else associated with the Hotel was great as well. Great restaurants nearby. Boat trips for whale watching, snorkeling, or fishing depart in front of the hotel.

Great hotel for families and small groupsPosted Feb 19, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, condo/rooms, rooftop deck.
Cons: Exercise facility
Location: Punta Minta, on the beach. Near restaurants and small local shops. Easy drive to Sayulita. Quiet town. Lovely.
The location, staff and rooftop deck are the highlights of staying at Cinco. The rooms (which are all condos) are great. You can rent boards directly from the hotel and can get access to kayaks and more in a matter of a few steps away from the hotel. The beach front is clean and well maintained. The only minor opportunity for improvement is at the gym. The weights are sufficient but cardio options are limited to one elliptical. I expect most guests hit the outdoors for exercise but my friends and I wanted to get a quick hard cardio workout and do some circuit training a couple of times during the stay and couldn't. A minor issue compared to the positives.

Beautiful location on the beach. Beautiful hotel when it was built. Rooms are condo like in size. Roof top bar staff and the assistant hotel mangager are fantastic. Manager of hotel only tells you what he thinks you want to hear. Very disappointed in the condition of the hotel and the many, many, many broken items throught our suite and the hotel grounds. Not quite as bad as The Exotic Marigold Hotel, but well on its way. A great value for our stay, but I would consider VRBO next time we stay in Punta Mita.

Quiet and RelaxedPosted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Rooftop pool and spa were not heated and were consequently freezing cold
Location: Beach front location, the town is extremely small and quiet. Generally attracts an older tourist market.
Great location on the beach in Punta Mita. The general condition of the hotel is slightly disappointing and neither of the pools or 'hottub' were heated during the stay, making them unusable. Staff were very pleasant and willing to help with general information on the area. Be aware Punta Mita is very small and there is little nightlife or local attractions - ideal if you wish to only relax and enjoy beach time.

CINCO gets a DIES!! (five gets a ten)Posted Oct 12, 2012
Pros: Cute, quaint, small and yet completely adequate.
Cons: No actual swimming pool, just a small lap/wading pool.
Location: Punta Mita is WAY overrated. The fact that this gem of a hotel is right in the midst of all the ghetto is a true surprise! .
Thanks to purchasing the $62 travel insurance, we were able to stay at this wonderful small Hotel right on the beach after leaving a moldy and very dreadful hotel that was all-inclusive about 8 miles away. We figured out how to call Expedia (Mexico!) and told them the odor in our room was unbearable, especially with my allergies. So, at 11:00 p.m., they located "CINCO" for us and told us to pack our bags and get over there, which we did!. Our 2 bedroom, 3 bath condo-hotel room was with full kitchen and laundry room was clean, bright airy, and beachfront views from all rooms!! We met the owner when we went up to the roof for lunch at the restaurant, and Emma, the chef cooked us up a special meal!! The owner is very lucky to have such a wonderful crew. Thanks to the night manager, we were accomodated upon our arrival at midnight. Beach is rocky and Punta Mita is VERY dirty and poverty stricken, so stay close to CINCO.
