Happy Couple

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: the location, the rooms, the staff service overall an outstanding hotel
Cons: Perhaps a little biger convenient store
Location: For a private relaxation the location is perfect, there nearest town is a short distance by car, the little town has excellent restaurants
This was our first experience in Punta de Mita, and my girlfriend and I didn't know what to expect, oh what a great surprise the hotel is located in a imaculate perfect private beach, the suite was very large and expacious soo confortable we wanted to stay longer. We definately be back soon.

Talk about tranquil!

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Seems like 10:1 help:guests ratio. Almost spookily vacant.
Cons: Some confusion over the cost of the taxis. Clarify before you get in.
Location: Las Marietas islands boat ride, birdwatching, whales, snorkeling. Sayulitas for Cocobananas and cheap surfboard rentals - you can surf from the beach!
We nearly had the place to ourselves over Thanksgiving break. Ricardo, the concierge, set us up with a very cool, small, personal tour of Las Marietas - a couple islands just offshore from Punta de Mita. We snorkeled thru the cave to the secret beach and had it all to ourselves for about 5 minutes before hordes arrived on the party boat from PV. Go early (9am). We also enjoyed an outing to Sayulitas - best to see it for a day and come back to the tranquility of the hotel. Colorful, but too many Americans. La Tranquila was great. We had the beach to ourselves. Kids bodysurfed every day and loved the pools. Ocean was warmer than the pools. Food was great either poolside or in the lobby "Bistro". La Brisa suite on the 7th floor had a spectacular view of the ocean and mountains. Don't mind the unfinished 1/3 of the hotel - it's quarantined off and maybe keeps the #'s down. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Great weekend stop before a week in our house

Posted Oct 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
We originally tried to book at Iberostar where our friends were staying but it was sold out. Lucky for us, La Tranquila was right next door with better rooms. It was also much more peaceful, so much so that we wondered if anyone else was staying there. The bellman assured us that it too was almost full but after a closer look, we noticed that most of the hotel's other rooms were unfinished. The huge pool never had more than 6 people in it compared to Iberostar next door which had hundreds. Food, drinks and service were reasonable, cooked to order and excellent, another big plus compared to next door which prepares in mass quantities.

Staff were very personable.

Pros: It is very beautiful.
Cons: I hope they can pick up business to stay open.
Location: Kind of isolated. Should be better as area grows.
The place is ultra nice. The staff were super friendly from the beginning to end of our stay. We would recommend to anyone.

Mucho potencial pero pobre ejecución

Posted Jul 6, 2014
