Dissapointed about VIP gold benefits

Posted May 28, 2015
Pros: The food is good, it is very close to the beach, a good place to family vacations
Cons: some areas of the hotel smells very ugly like drainage
Sandra from the front desk was a little bit rude. They didn’t give us the benefits from expedia vip gold although I showed the e-mail that I received which mentions late checkout and a dinner in royal club, much less an upgrade. I’m a little disappointed, it supposed to be a VIP hotel but according to our experiences in other VIP hotels It is far from being one of them.

Nice Hotel right on the beach.

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Clean and had a variety of restaurants.
Cons: Don't harass us about the vaction club/time share, no soliciting on the beach ( we'll go to the shops if interested), have the pools open longer.
Location: There's nothing near by except other hotels. You'll have to book an excursion or go to Puerto Vallarta downtown (at least 25 mins away)
Nice all inclusive, just look out for the time share/ vacation club sales reps that come after you rifht after check-in. Wish the pools were open later.

Nice smaller hotel with a very friendly staff and

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: The staff is great. The food is very good and on special nights when they have a party it is even better. Rooms are very nice.
Cons: Not sure it needs changes.
Location: Not too far from the airport. Have everything available to guests to do just like all the resorts. Shopping across the street.
Overall it was great. This is our third time to stay here and we more than likely go back again. Only had one problem with room, paid for ocean view and our first room did not qualify as ocean view for me. Next day did get a room change but it took a lot of work on my part to get it.

Occidental or Accidental

Posted Apr 1, 2015
We were immediately grabbed to go on a tour to join the time share. The hallways are so close we felt trapped and the entryway to our room was uncomfortably tight. I am a petite 5 ft 2 in woman and felt huge in the cramped space. We had no outdoor space to our room and a minuscule view. Our coffee pot was faulty and we had to beg for coffee and minibar refills. We did anything to stay out of our room. We won't go back and will tell others to go elsewhere.

Repeat guest, very disappointed

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: The majority of the staff is phenomenal. The food is good.
Cons: The rooms need ceiling fans. There are not enough umbrellas for shade around either pool. Enforce the towel exchange policy.
Location: Puerto Vallarta is a easy local bus trip away. The enclosed mall across from the hotel is nice, and in most cases reasonably priced.
Original room assignment was unacceptable. We paid extra for deluxe ocean view, but got a room overlooking the roof tops of the bar, Mexican restaurant, one end of the pool, the walkway, and a slight view of the ocean. We did get a better room assigned to us, after dealing with three individuals at the front desk. Thanks to Hugo, everything was worked out. The top three floors, and all of the corner rooms are assigned to Vacation Club members, and First Club members. The hotel has gone over board catering to these people. I think my dollar is equal to their dollar, however, it did not appear that way. The beach bar, which was once a terrific gathering place, has been moved and is now the pool bar. The ambiance is gone. When that bar was by the beach, it was nearly impossible to find a seat, all day into the evening hours. Now, the bar is nearly empty at all times, except for individuals getting a drink and going back to their loungers, etc.
