Don't stay here

Posted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything - management, customer service, cleanliness, comfort.
I booked this hotel at the last minute late at night because it was the only one available in the area. Upon arrival the office door was locked and lights were off. Waited 10 minutes for staff to open the door. Checking in was awful - woman did not speak English and argued with me about the price. I paid ahead of time online and she tried to double charge me. Gave me the room right next to the office and it was 100 degrees in there. A/C hardly worked and tv was old - probably from the 1980s. Bed was hard and covered in plastic. Walls were cracked, bathroom had rust and exposed pipes. Did not even touch the shower. Found a bug crawling on the wall and bed/furniture wasn't even real wood it was metal. One light in the room didn't even work. Never staying here again. It smelled bad and was poorly managed and unclean.

Good place if all you want to do is sleep

Posted Sep 4, 2012
I knew that this was not going to be a class A place as I made my reservations really late and there was not a lot available. Having said that, I didn't expect a really great place. I was however surprised to find that we were in a small cabin instead of a typical "hotel" - I was not made aware of that during my conversation with the booking agent. But we were only there primarily to sleep, and it was fine for that.

Dishonest price rates. No resolution skills. Safety of location very questionable. Expedia should not be representing this hotel.

horrible management/staff

Posted Aug 7, 2012
Pros: nothing
Cons: management
We had a family emergency after only being there an hour and they wouldn't refund us. And they told us we had to just take it as a loss after the manager told me it was his decision on whether we got a refund or not.

Like going back in time

Just looking at the motel reminded me of the motels my family stayed in during the late '50's and early '60's: a one story strip motel with outside entrances. The interior and furnishings were of the same vintage. There was no closet...only a rack pushed up against the dressing table. The small bathroom had a shower but no tub. The cost of the room was more than any other hotel on this trip...including Day's Inn, Hilton Garden, and Comfort Inn. Needless to say, they were much more nicely appointed. The Expedia agent who helped with reservations stated that she had stayed in an Am. Best Value Inn and was satisfied. I conclude from this that the "Inns" are independently owned and vary in quality. On the positve side, the manager/owner was wonderful. When we asked for a coffeemaker, she came back with a large one for our use. Our room was cleaned daily, and fresh linens were provided in the bathroom. In summary, America's Best Value Inn was neither a good value nor an inn. The motel was close to where we needed to be, but I would have been willing to drive a longer distance.
