This was one of my favorite stays while in Iceland. It was clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was exceptional as well.

We were totally surprised by the hotel Klaustur. The accommodations and on-site restaurant were top notch. Definitely a must stay whenever we are back in this part of Iceland.

My only complaint is after dinner we went to get a drink and no one came . The bartender was serving too. No big deal but we would have stayed in restaurant instead if we knew

In a beautiful area. Fantastic facility and staff. Excellent included breakfast. Best dinner we’ve had in Iceland and not the most expensive (but still pricey). Room was amazing, with heated bathroom floor, separate tub and shower, heated towel rack, etc. This was our treat to ourselves.

Very modern property with attractive, comfortable rooms. The beds and pillows and bedding were all great. The bathroom, particularly the shower was enjoyable. Overall a very good experience. The exception being that the bathroom could have been cleaner. Hair on the floor, reddish-brown spots on stains on the toilet lid. But people are human, even good staff. The rest of the room was great so I guess they just missed these. Perhaps an update checklist or something?

The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing! They even had mimosas out with the continental breakfast! The front desk staff was extremely kind. We checked in very late and I had lost my iPhone charger. He checked the list and found for one for me and when he didn’t see one he lent me his personal cord for the night. We definitely recommend Hotel Klaustur!

The rooms were a bit small, and the orientation of the furniture meant there were no plug ins anywhere near the bed so was just a little inconvenient not having my cell phone or laptop near me when it needed to be charging. Otherwise was a nice hotel within walking distance to a few shops and waterfall, nice restaurant as well.

Uncaring and inconsiderate
We were very excited to visit Iceland and stay at Hotel Klauster. Unfortunately, due to the volcanic activity and my acute asthma at age 70, we needed to leave Iceland early. I contacted Hotel Klauster and explained the situation that we wouldn't be there to stay at their hotel. They adamantly refused to refund our stay. VERY upset at the lack of caring or consideration.

Most of the hotel is updated except for the bathrooms in the rooms. Mine seemed dirty (still had hair from previous guest in shower and sink. Also, one of my towels had several hairs on it. The part that ruined my entire stay was when I was checking in and the front desk asked me my name. It’s usually difficult for people to understand, so I spelled out my last name, and then first. She proceeded to laugh at my first name for a solid 3-4 seconds….. unbelievably rude. Can’t believe I paid $350 to be insulted and stay in a gross room. I didn’t even want to eat dinner at the hotel because of this lady’s behavior.

They put us in a brand new wing that wasn’t quite ready for guests. The carpet was still off-gassing, which smelled quite bad. There was construction around and well. The shower didn’t get hot and it was difficult to open and close the door. Other than that, the hotel was convenient with nice staff and good breakfast. They just need to finalize that wing a little more before welcoming guests.
