Ride the Heavenly Gondola cable car from South Lake Tahoe town center to the Heavenly Mountain Resort. Admire the views from the observation deck perched on a 9,123-foot (2,780-meter) high peak. Come in the winter to ski and snowboard on almost 100 runs. When the snow melts the resort transforms into a summer sports hub. Travel on a 3,300-foot (1,000-meter) long zip line or enjoy a hot air balloon ride. Hike or bike along trails to enjoy panoramas of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
Go out after dark to experience South Lake Tahoe’s nightlife. Find bars and nightclubs situated on Lake Tahoe Boulevard. Alternatively, make the short drive into Nevada for a night out at the casinos and entertainment centers.
