I was worried about the neighborhood based on other reviews, but it was fine. I would avoid 6th street as others have suggested, but walking toward the convention center seemed fine. Staff was lovely. Room was clean and quiet enough.We never heard other guests, just a firetruck or two.

Front staff is always helpful. We’ve stayed multiple times for Giants games and concerts, have always had a great experience here. Great local for transportation or even walking

Excellent hotel, staff, location!! The 3 star is for wrong advertisement while booking. The room said city view, but eventually we had to upgrade by paying additional amount and the parking is exorbitant !!! Only valet $74 per night. You may as well pay for a hotel room nearby. Just be aware of this.

This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at but not the most expensive so it’s still a good value. Room service breakfast was very classy and well presented. The food at Bistro 888 was very good as well. The strip loin steak was excellent and the Yukon gold purée was the best mashed potatoes I have ever had. My wife enjoyed the cheese plate. The hotel has almost anything that you need but venturing out to Walgreen’s or Target for snacks is pretty scary. I recommend taking an Uber or taxi and not walking anywhere if you can avoid it. The pool and hot tub were clean, well equipped and not crowded. The lady at the gift shop was very sweet and helpful but the hours weren’t very regular. Front desk staff were all very courteous and helpful as well. A taxi to the hotel from the airport was not cheap at over $60 but an Uber would be about half that amount. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return on another trip.

I’d give this hotel a 3.9 out of 5. Hotel, bar, and amenities are absolutely to die for, BUT the area around the hotel is not safe. Drive one block in the wrong direction and you will arrive in an area teaming with dirty streets and drug addicts. Also, parking is valet only, and if you don’t want to do the valet the parking garage is near the area that I described above. The room that we stayed in had ‘stains’ on the chair, and the toilet had slight particles that can only be described as ‘dirt.’ Overall, if you are planning to stay here, everything you need will be at the hotel and in the hotel without having to leave and go out to eat or site see. But if you are a traveler and like to roam the city and the food scene, then this might not be your cup of tea. It is a preference for everybody, so go in with a open heart!

My girlfriend and I celebrated our anniversary at the Intercontinental. All of the staff were so helpful and kind. Their texting for service system is very fast and responsive. We felt extremely comfortably here and although we traveled to San Francisco to explore the area, there were time where we did not want to leave the hotel because of all its amenities.

was not a fan of the side alley to get to the entrance. late arrival to the hotel check in was fine. sink took a while to drain. water in the shower did not get hot. several of the outlets in the room did not work. bed was okay not the most comfortable. the lobby was pretty.

We had an excellent stay. We were visiting for a conference in the nearby Moscone center and the location was perfect. Also, since we brought the kids the nearby parks were excellent. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to help us (and two small boys gave them plenty to do). Same with the reception and bell hops. As we were leaving, the taxi sent a smaller car than requested but the hotel staff jumped right in, helping us with our luggage and offering the use of the hotel SUV to take us to the airport. We were really impressed by the staff.
