A Place to Lay Your Head at NightPosted Jul 6, 2014
Most important detail: We arrived to find that the hotel advertises the same room for $20 less than we paid through Expedia! The all-tile room was a place to sleep, nothing more. The mattress was uncomfortable and had flat pillows. Our room was adorned with a head-sized dent in the wall and furniture with water damage at the base (that explains the lack of carpet). As for location, Island Inn is on the "wrong side" of the island, as in on the opposite side of the public beaches. That wasn't a deal breaker though, as the beach side is still a short walk away. We were a little jealous as we walked by hotels that overlook the beach though.

Nice hotel next to a family friendly park.Posted Jul 5, 2014
Staff was helpful and friendly. The park next to hotel is convenient for play time. We enjoyed a barbecue in the late afternoon with an evening swim.

You get what you pay for.Posted Jul 2, 2014
When we first got there it smelled so bad. The maids were cleaning the rooms and they had the trash cans with them that smelled the entire hall way, it was gross. The room itself was nothing fancy. The beds were a bit hard. The pool was small and the free continental breakfast was orange juice with little powder donuts. I would stay again only because it's cheap and clean. Only need the room to sleep in so it wasn't a problem for us

South Padre Island Adventure 2014Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: Location was adequate! It was quiet and comfy! Refrigerator and microwave were useful. Housekeeping was done daily, although we only stayed two nights
Cons: Continental breakfast should include fruit and rolls or bread. We can't microwave cake donuts even though a microwave was available!
Location: We walked to the beach and to souvenir shops as well as local eateries!
Arrived approx. 5pm on a Mon. Room was clean and organized but the bathroom had an awful stench to it! Maybe body order or smoke but it was a non-smoking room as I believe all the rooms are now. I turned up the a/c from 70 to 75 when we went to bed because it was too cold but when I got up later that night to go to the restroom the whole floor was wet and slippery! I had to turn down the a/c and the room dried up! Continental breakfast was a joke! We awoke early before 8am. There were powdered white donuts and chocolate cake ones too. (the tiny ones) Juice was gone and there was only coffee! I asked the attendant at the desk if this was all that was offered and he said, "Yes, coffee, donuts, and juice." We spent most of our time away from our room so I can't say it was an enjoyable stay, it was just a place to leave our belongings and sleep after our outings.
