“Nice and comfy hotel.”

Had a nice stay in this hotel. The water pressure in the shower could be stronger and water need to better hotter. My husband tried to make a bath for me but the water temperature was just luke warm. The free breakfast could have better quality. The bagel tasted stale and sausages were not that good. Flour tortillas were hard and dry. The gym need newer equipments. For the price it was good.

Area recommendations
See the sand dunes on the north side of the Island. They are beautiful.

“Great Location and Price”

We just got back from our first trip to South Padre Island. The staff and location was great. The hotel was right on the beach. The water was warm, but there was a strong rip tide. The breakfast was a nice assortment of cereals, oatmeal, texas shaped waffles w/ strawberries, eggs, sausage, muffins, breads, doughnuts, fresh fruit and 3 different types of fruit juices, and of course coffee. There was a nightly happy hour w/beer, wine and margeritas and popcorn. The rooms are large and the beds are comfey. It is a older hotel, but well maintained.

“It was a clean hotel right next to the beach!”

We enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were nice and we thought the continental breakfast was decent. The access to the beach was wonderful and they had a nice pool. My big complaint was that we were on the 4th floor where a wedding reception was being held. The live music was so loud that everyone on the floor had to endure the loud base music till way into the night. We complained and nothing was done about it. I think in the future the hotel should not rent the rooms out around that reception room when they are going to have an event like that going on. We had no idea that it was going to be so loud or that the event was going to be happening. We should have been given a choice to change rooms or something. Other than that it is a great hotel for families and we thought was reasonably priced.

“Great Location”

Great location for catching the local transportation, Wave shuttle. Fly into Brownville during the day and the Valley Metro was only 75 cents for a Senior which took you to a shopping area in Port Isabel. From there catch the Wave for free to the hotel. Had a very nice breakfast for free and access to the beach. What else do you need??

“Good value for the money”

Housekeeping in one of two rooms overlooked some dog poop and the drains were plugged up. (was fixed immediately) Unexpected charge for pet., (approximately 30% charge non refundable) Prior visits were no charge. Hotel promised 15% of the one room rate refunded due to cleaniness and bathroom drain malfunction.

“A well needed vacation, this was the place to go”

La Copa Inn was in the perfect location with excellent beach access. It is an older hotel, but it was very comfy!! We got a beach front view and absolutely loved it! Will definitely stay here again! Complimentary drinks during happy hour, free popcorn and a breakfast the kids would love!!

“S Padre Island”

Hotel had a mix star rating. Either the review was horrible or great. I found it to be better then average. Breakfasts were good, pool clean and staff friendly. IF you don't mind a few cosmetic blemishes this is a great deal. Also noted constant preventative maintenance and painting during slower season. NO extra charges were on my CC as I had read in other reviews and no bugs.Great location.

“Not Impressed and Def Not Worth Money”

The hotel was nice but was not worth the money that we spent. It had a heated pool which was awesome but the condition of the building as a whole was bad. It was an older building that definitely looked its age. The location was convenient because it took us a 30 second walk to the beach and had some great restaurants within walking distance.

“This Hotel Was Great!”

I really enjoyed my stay here. The views of the beach were beautiful. There was a convenient boardwalk out to the sea, the pool was very clean, the hotel lobby and rooms were very clean and smelled fresh. The attendant was polite and helpful and the price was awesome--even for off season. There was also a nice girl at the front when you come in who organizes visitor guides. I will definately stay here again.
