good locationPosted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: very clean and centrally located.
Cons: The breakfast was bad. needs improvement in content, heating and quality.
Location: very central to causeway. Beach is the focus not a huge amount of things to do.
Some confusion on check in. Staff was very helpful and the place was extremely clean. Good walkway to the beach. Our location on the first floor next to the elevators was very loud. Place seemed overbooked to it's maximum capacity. Felt like every room had way too many people. Breakfast was the same every day and was not edible. Coffee was too weak to even drink. We ended up going out for breakfast.

Reasonably priced hotelPosted Jun 23, 2015
Hotel was very clean, I've stayed at several other pricier hotels in this area before and was actually impressed by la copa. Did not get a pool or partial beach view as the others but the room impressed me. Pool and bar wasn't the biggest nor greatest but I still enjoyed my stay

Short one niter stay over.Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms with high ceilings. Clean look over all of Hotel.
Cons: Pool area maintenance during normal operating hours.
Location: You name it South Padre has it. Water sports of all types, birding, beach time, boating, tours, and great restaurants.
Hotel is well kept and freshly painted maintenance paints at night. Bar tender needs more training on mixing drinks. Pool area needs to be looked after during working hours not after it closes. The guest can make a mess out of it that needs cleaning during the day. Having chicken bones on the tiles of the pool area is not cool. Wet pool towels laid down and forgotten. Starbucks is a nice touch but when the hotel counter is busy there is no one to serve you. Rooms have very high ceilings which helps keep them cool. Jetted tub in room was greatly appreciated at night before bed. Morning breakfast is limited think continental with made to order omelets. You will not know there are omelets available until you get eggs off the buffet then sit down and see the omelets are being made in a different area then were the buffet line is. Hotel has a board walk to the beach, easier then walking through the dunes. Hotel staff Desiree recommended a good restaurant for us. Nice hotel over all very clean rooms and hall ways. Will stay again when i come back to South Padre Islands.

OK for PadrePosted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: The room was fine--not as clean as I like but ok.
Cons: Clean the floor of the room so there is no sand. Make the breakfast better!!
Location: Good location, close to the beach.
This hotel looks relatively new and appears to be in good condition. The paint was fresh, furniture new, etc. The staff was nice, but I wouldn't say they were overly friendly. Our room was not as clean as I would expect. There was sand on the floor. We pulled out the sofa bed, and there was sand on those sheets. The two queen beds were clean and fine. We booked this hotel because it said "free breakfast," however that was the most disappointing part of our stay. The breakfast area was very crowded. You had to stand in line and wait for the food. They served waffles, eggs with sausage in it, tortillas, and beans (no cheese, which you really need). You could stand in an even longer line if you wanted an omelete--there was only one person making omelets. They kept running out of everything and there was only one poor lady refilling things. It was a mess and not worth going for breakfast at all! So, if you just want a decent hotel to sleep in, this hotel is fine. Go to breakfast elsewhere!!

Beach Access was Perfcet!Posted Jun 14, 2015
I traveled with a group of friends, it was a pleasant stay. The beach access was so practical! That was definitely the high light of the hotel. The only bad thing I have to say, is that the towels looked dirty. They would have green or yellow stains. Breakfast was very nice too! The pool was nice as well!

Close to the beachPosted Jun 13, 2015
The room we got was really nice, we loved the fact that it was on the beach. The breakfast is ok, it's not bad unless your expecting gourmet food. They serve waffles and eggs as well as an omelette station and cereal. The only things I can complain about was the pillows we got stunk and we had to go buy some, the wifi never works, and they have only 2 elevators so it takes a while to get on one.
