Stayed for one night only and found it pleasant enough. Rooms were clean, breakfast good and I got a good night's sleep. Had an amazing meal at the Nant Ddu Lodge down the road which was a real bonus.

2 miles north of Merthyr

Location: 2 miles from Merthyr Tydful, near to a reservoir on a busy main road. The nearest place to eat in the evening was a hotel and spa 2 miles away.
A pleasant place to stay, a little bit dated, but clean and servicable. Helpful staff who were happy to order a taxi to get us to the nearest place for dinner. Telephone reception poor, free wifi but intermittent connection. Good full Welsh breakfast.

Comfortable and leisurely.

Pros: The location is optimal for visiting the valleys or wandering on the mountains.
Cons: Breakfast service needsimproving. Refreshment tray rather sparse for the price of the accommodation - only 2 coffee sachets, 1 pack of biscuits !
Location: Off A470 location- peaceful and handy, yet very handy to visit the National park or Merthyr Tudful and other valet locations
Clean, warm, good-sized room, furnished with calming neutral colours. Very pleased with the selection of TV stations (included S4C) The Lounge was cold and uninviting- hence no one seemed to use it ! Varied choice of books/brochures, and games to borrow. Good views of the reservoir. The breakfast was excellent foodwise, although the choice was limited ( no continental option ) but the service left a bit to be desired. Orders for the cooked breakfast were not taken at beginning, leading to delays - we waited half an hour ! Staff friendly.

Large rooms with cute decor. Modern bathroom had a towel warmer! Hot chocolate and cookies in the room to greet us. Very quiet location-- kind of like an old home converted into several hotel rooms at the entrance to Brecon Beacons National Park. Breakfast is a full Welsh hot meal with cold selections also-- very filling and tasty. Staff was always helpful and friendly.

Great stay.

My boyfriend and I booked this guesthouse for one night when in Cardiff. Though a bit of a drive it was well worth it, though we arrived late the keys were left out for us so we could go straight to our room. The room was clean and comfy, and had a great stay there. I know previous comments have been made about the drive but it is easy to park the car and the views were spectacular.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on a trip through the National Park. It was a comfortable stay with some things that other people mentioned already. The bathroom water pressure was lost in the shower if the hot water was past a certain point. At another point the cold water from the tap stopped working, but was working again when we returned from breakfast. There was some mold in the shower, but nothing too bad. Breakfast was delicious and served in a timely manner. The bed was comfy and the wi-fi worked in our room since we were above the common room, but they tell you it only works in the common area. It's got great views and a lovely patio. Check-in only opens from 4pm onwards, so don't plan to drop your bags and keep going.
