Very good hotel with free parkingPosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: Lovely large room which was modern and very comfortable.
Cons: See main review relating to shower curtain.
Location: Located next to the football ground and only a 10 minute walk to the city centre, so a good all round location.
My husband and I both liked this hotel very much, and we were impressed with the free parking, which most other Sheffield hotels don't seem to provide. The standard room was very spacious and well decorated, and there was a settee on which to relax. The bed was comfortable and there were tea/coffee making facilities. However, we were a little surprised at the size of the window (quite small) for a room this size. The only downside overall was the shower, which was over the bath. We don't have a problem with this, but there was a shower curtain, and in my opinion these are nothing but an absolute pain. Even if you place the curtain inside the bath as instructed, there is still a possibility that the bathroom floor gets wet. To be honest, I'm surprised that an establishment of this calibre hasn't replaced these outdated fittings with a screen, and this accounts for my having downgraded the rating slightly. Apart from this, everything including breakfast was excellent, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Very comfortable hotelPosted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: Convenient for university student residences and city.
Cons: Is there no better instant coffee for in-room facilities than Nescafe's most basic ?
Location: Beside Sheffield United football ground !
Very pleasant stay at this hotel. Room was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable.

Nice modern-style hotelPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Modern design
Cons: Everything was fine.
Location: Good if you want to get to London Rd or the bottom end of the Moor.
I have stayed here 3 or 4 times now. It's a bit out of the very centre but still within walking distance. After staying at the more central Hilton on my last visit and being quite disappointed, I was pleased to return to the Copthorne. Not sure how the parking would work if Sheffield Utd was playing at home as the hotel is co-located and shares car parking spaces - worth checking the fixtures when you book.

Excellent hotel! Staff are courteous and helpful. A few minutes drive from train station. Far superior to other hotels I've stayed in Sheffield. Will stay there again.

Lovely hotel, only a short walk from the city centre. Had slight problem with the booking, but was resolved by friendly, apologetic staff. Liked having a sofa in the room and bed was really comfy!
