Average hotel, poor poolPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pool is an embarrassment and the changing rooms have 4 lockers for a hotel with 140 rooms. Wouldn't recommend this hotel, much better hotels near by.

Totally OverpricedPosted Jan 28, 2014
The room I stayed in was not worth the price. So small you stepped into the bathroom directly from the bed. Crumbs and stains on the cheap carpet. Plastic curtains and the separate toilet was "like being at guide camp" in my daughters words. I had to phone down to reception at 12.25am to get the music from a function 5 storeys below to stop too.

Sheffield centre hotelPosted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: its proximity to the Arboretum, and the gallery spaces around the hotel
we were disappointed that where was no car park space and we had to park in the nearby public carpark. this meant that we had to carry our luggage from the car to the hotel. we were shown To only to discover that the Lavatorywas leaking and this necessitated a call to the reception area where we were told that only a temporary fixing was available and that we could have a new room. The new room, described as the executive room we Were told had a bath and bathrobes thrown in. this sounded just the job until we discovered that the one Toweling robe was damp. despite the complaints we found it to be a pleasant hotel, modern and well equipped and the meal we had in the dining room was good. remember provided was still damp!

Novotel SheffieldPosted Jan 6, 2014
Generally I was generally very happy with the hotel. However, there were a few issues that I should bring to your attention: 1. Please ensure that all 3rd party booking agencies (e.g. Expedia.com, etc.) are totally aware of all your hotel facilities and sleeping arrangement. I booked this hotel through Expedia. I expressly requested through Expedia to have a room for 2 nights that had two single beds for my teenage son (14 years) and myself. I requested that Expedia confirm that these facilities were available to me before my booking through Expedia and they did. When I arrived into my hotel room I found that I did not have two single beds, but a double bed and a sofa bed. When I approached the Hotel Reception to complain they kept saying 'that that is how it is'. This was totally unacceptable to me as I expressly requested Expedia to confirm this during my booking. 2. We were not aware (on week days) that breakfast finished at 10:00 am in stead of 11:00 am as is the case for the weekends. Hotel reception staff should have made us aware of this.
