Terrible hotel to be honestPosted Apr 3, 2015
Got there around 10pm and none of the room keys they gave me would work - went down to reception 3 times for them to fix it so I could actually go into my room, and the lady ended up having to let me in with a master key I asked about the wireless and the lady told me "the Internet is a bit iffy especially on the 1st floor so I'll get you a cable to connect your laptop" - 2 hours later I called to reception to see if she had found one and she then told me "the hotel is fully booked up so I can't get you one from another room" I was in Barnsley for business so having no internet in 2015 England was ridiculous. Had to go downstairs for some wifi and I wasn't alone as other people were searching for Internet also. Stayed 2 days and was never given an Internet cable in the end. Breakfast not worth the price considering Toby carvery across the car park has a better deal either (silly)

OK for the moneyPosted Apr 1, 2015
Staff OK, no hairdryer in room so had to ask for one. Very clean accomodation but not a very comfortable mattress, seen better days. No wifi but had Internet cable, which didn't quite reach to the sofa. Location right next to motorway which was convenient and there was no motorway noise in the hotel I noticed. Breakfast extra and not bad at all.

Great hotel for businessPosted Mar 11, 2015
Cons: Service at the bar
This hotel is great VFM and ideally located. No great creature comforts but has most things you need for an overnight stay.

Charging extras problemPosted Feb 23, 2015 on Hotels.com
No problems except no one told me I had to get authorisation to charge anything to my room - until I was refused at the bar & had to pay cash.

Staying with petsPosted Feb 20, 2015 on Hotels.com
We had to stay overnight due to work being carried out on our house, we booked a room for ourselves and our two dogs. We were put on the 3rd floor, which wasn't an issue for us as we only wanted a bed for the night and nothing more. However, the room had wooden floor covering (normally quite nice and clean) but what it did mean was that every time the dogs moved they clattered about on the floor and stopped us humans from sleeping. We were also worried that the noise of their footsteps would be heard in the room below and affect other visitors. It may seem like a silly point but it did mean that we got very little sleep that night so it wasn't worth the (very reasonable) price. Dedicated rooms with soft flooring for pets maybe ?
