Basic hotel ideally situated for the airport

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness and quiet location
Cons: Bed replaced
Location: We did not explore the local area as we had a family function elsewhere
I chose this hotel because of the good rate offered without completely researching its location. Unfortunately it was further away from our venue which was a nuisance. The room was a good size, clean and bright. The bathroom was small and unfortunately didn't have a bath. The bed was very low and a bit uncomfortable. We did not eat at the hotel?

Pros: Price was reasonable. Booking easy and efficient. Reception friendly efficient even late night. It was easy walk from the terminal. Bed comfortable
Cons: The air conditioning could be used quickly to warm up the room
The hotel is"just what it says on the tin" Good for a short stay when using Robin Hood. 5 mins walk from the terminal Long stay car parking is more expensive than the airport car park. Hotel charges £30 a week. However it's free when staying. In a word it's at the top end of the Travel Lodge type of accomodation

Loads of parking, easy to find. Not near the city so no noise from outside and no traffic jams. Planes do not fly often so not much noise from them. Clean and warm room what more could you ask for.

Pleasant no nonsense airport hotels

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Cons: A rug on the floor would make it cosier.
A five minute walk across the car park at Robin Hood airport this hotel was all we needed for an overnight stay with friendly efficient staff and a clean, comfortable, no nonsense room and ensuite wet room. A late check in (1 am) was no problem and the buffet breakfast good and in pleasant surroundings. Excellent value for money. car parking available at hotel.

Hotel was OK, reception staff were friendly and helpful, the only issue we had was with the maids not knocking on room door before walking in and then not even apologising for it, also we had no clean towels or bedding for 4 days.

Our stay

Posted Dec 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
We used the hotel for a place to stay for a works do in Bawtry. Arrived at the hotel, flicked the shower on to get ready straight away. Well..... A river formed out of the wet room bathroom, out into the bedroom, wife covered in soap and no choice to continue, spent the next 5 minutes using the towels we had mopping the floor. #drainblockage Use Hotels.com which is great for me, but upon checkout was asked to settle the bill, I had no bill as payment is taken from hotels.com, upon describing this, I was challenged which I felt uncomfortable with, almost paid again, the receptionist then realised his mistake and sent us on our way, I was going to complain about the bathroom but this threw me so forgot all about it. He also never asked how our stay was, a simple but great way of customer service.

Really handy for the airport

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: Smart clean and colourful
Cons: Television
Actually on the airport site so couldn't be more convenient. Fairly new smart and clean. Only problem was gett the television to work as the buttons on the remote didn't do what they should have and all the menus were Scandanavian!

Nice looking hotel and in a quiet part of town

Posted Nov 28, 2014
Pros: It seemed fairly clean
Cons: Please see above
Location: We were there on business and so did not explore any leisure activities
I found the Bed totally uncomfortable and too small for 2 adults. The extractor fan in the bathroom/toilet is not effective and you could suffocate in there as their is no outlet for the built up steam nor any air ventilation. Also as soon as 1 person uses the shower the entire wet room becomes flooded and the floor wet. It will help if the hotel can supply rubber slippers for guests. When we arrived the room was cold, it will have helped since the hotel knew we were arriving to have the room warmed to normal room temperature 17-19 degrees centigrade. Also there were no instructions available for regulating the room temperature so it took us sleeping in a freezing room overnight before we figured it out the next day. The staff were not the most helpful, the hotel promised ironing facilities and when I asked for I was grudingly given a board and an iron at reception and had to carry it myself up to my room with no assistance offered from staff. Staff also did not give us the exit code from the car park and we were left wondering how to exit the car park and had to wait a while at the exit gates.
