“What a treat!!!”

This Hotel was located in the beautiful, breath taking black forest area of Germany. It was wonderful!! The daily allowance into the spa area was great. The grounds were beautiful, an early morning run or walk is the most peaceful experience. There are just miles and miles of beautiful trails through the forest. You can also rent bikes. Oh, and do not miss the breakfast there. Also the other meals that we had there were outstanding. We would stay here again just for the food. The service was great!!! I had a great massage on the lower floor of the hotel.

“Good for one night stay”

We stayed at the hotel for one night on our way from UK to Tuscany and again on the return journey. Convenient for A5. One night we had a newly re-furbed standaard double room which was comfortable but the glass door to the bathroom meant lack of privacy! Rooms lacked a/c though we did have an electric fan on our second stay which was welcome as it was quite hot that day. Dinner was okay but we weren't offered the 'snack' menu - we discovered later that there was a more simple choice rather than the, quite expensive, a la carte 'organic' options. Breakfast (15 euro each) was good, service efficient. The reception desk had only one person so checking in was delayed while another guest had a long discussion regarding items on their bill and our departure was interrupted while the receptionist broke off to answer the 'phone.

“Not your typical spa”

We arrived very early as this was our first hotel after crossing the Atlantic overnight. The front desk staff made every effort to find us a room that had been cleaned and ready for guests, despite it still being before noon. Our Expedia reservation was right there, no hassle. This hotel is listed as a spa, which it is, but with German/European connotations. It is used by many locals as a rehab center, so the lobby was filled with people using wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers as they rehab from strokes, accidents, and other disabling health issues. It is not a spa in the sense of the word describing a pampering location for a vacation, even though they had massages, whirlpools, etc . The location was rural, next to a park, so very quiet and pleasant. (Many cuckoo birds in adjacent forest). We are satisfied with the hotel however most likely we would choose something less clinical if he had known the nature of the spa in advance.

“Great for the Thermae Spa”

Hotel was a little distance from the train station but in a beautiful woodland setting which made up for that. Hotel was comfortable and the evening staff were particularly helpful. One thing i would say is avoid the rooms that once were smoking rooms as the smell remains!! We ate in the restaurant one night - food was nice/reasonably priced but might not suit all tastes (some very random ingrediants). What really makes this hotel is the Thermae Spa. Indoor and outdoor pools with jets / swimming areas great for relaxing after a day at work. Would definatly stay there again just for the spa!
