“Good for accessing the south coast”

The hotel was clean and well kept with ample parking and helpful staff. It was also cheaper than similar places in Reykjavik. Would recommend it. Rooms were a good size. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, meats, cheese and bread. he hotel has an outdoor heated swimming pool and steam room but we didn't use this.

“Great hotel in really interesting town”

We really liked Hotel Ork and Hvergerdi. The room was a good size, and with good furniture, including arm chairs, a table and a fridge. It had a nice view over the steaming hills. The hotel also had a geothermally heated swimming pool with a water slide, two hot tubs and a sauna, and also a snooker table, dart board and table tennis table. All of which kept us well entertained when the weather turned bad. There was a good selection at breakfast. Hvergerdi is also great - the hot springs and steam rising from the hills were fascinating, there were great walks from the village and it was in a good location for Rekjavik, the Golden Circle, etc. Would definitely come back.

“Great location to see SW Iceland”

Well located for seeing the numerous impressive sights of southwestern Iceland. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, excellent geothermally heated outdoor pool with water slides, and an outdoor steam room. No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms was a bit of a disappointment. 9 hole par 3 golf course with free use of clubs was enjoyed by our boys after returning from daytrips to Thingvellir/Gullfoss/Geyser (do not expect manicured greens and fairways - a partially grassed over old lava flow is one of the hazards - but the summer light allows play until well after 11pm). We were on a budget (saved our money for the guided tours) and ate out at night so cannot comment on the restaurant, but the buffet breakfast was fine. Thermal springs within easy walk of the hotel.

we only stay one night at this hotel it was very quiet as it was out of season so it was run by a skeleton staff (so no bar or resturant)the town is small but has the facilities to make up.so this reveiw is nt fair as i couldnt judge what it would be like in season.however one could tell this was clearly a 3/4 star hotel and this laid on breakfast was excellent.
