Hotel in the Country

Posted Oct 28, 2014 on Hotels
The hotel was fairly close to the venue of the wedding I was attending. Definitely an older hotel, but served its purpose. The front desk associates were very helpful.

Dive Hotel Should Be Condemned

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: The two staff members that we met when we checked in seemed to be very pleasant. Other than that, there was nothing I liked about this hotel.
Cons: The entire hotel should be remodeled and updated, from front to back. Also, there should be phones in every room, and more staff.
My husband and I were disgusted with this hotel in the middle of nowhere. When we arrived, no one was at the front desk, so we rang a bell, and two employees arrived, shortly after. Both were very pleasant, and one stated that she would be working in the hotel bar until 2:00 a.m. We were then handed an old fashioned key to our room. When we entered our room, it was like we had stepped into a time warp, into the 1960's or 1970's. The room was shabby and dated, and when I sat down on the foot of one of the double beds, it let out a loud squeak, and promptly sank down to within a few inches from the floor. The mattress (at least 20 years old) was stiff and hard, like cardboard, but the springs had died many years earlier. I wanted to call the front desk to complain, but there was NO phone in the room, only a phone jack, and because we were stuck in the middle of nowhere, my cell phone had no bars and was useless. The hotel did have Wi-Fi, BUT, the signal was weak and inoperative, so I was unable to contact Expedia to see how we could get our money back and leave this dive. We tried to make the best of a miserable situation, but finally, around 4 a.m., we could take it no longer, so we packed up and dropped our key off in a box on the front desk. Though we rang the bell for service, there was NO staff there, so we simply left. This hotel should be condemned! I would advise everyone not visit this hotel, unless they want to waste their money on a dive.

Had to change rooms 3 times

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Not very good. Will never go back and expect a full refund. There was garbage in the rooms and pubic hair on the sheets after we took off the comforter

Best choice for the price

Posted Jul 29, 2014 on Hotels
The hotel we normally stay at raised its rates too much for my liking, so I looked for an alternative. For a reasonable price, Greenleafe is fairly nice. It was clean and had all the promised amenities. The continental breakfast was simply bagles and donuts, and I had to ask to get milk, a plate and a knife. But, hey, it was free!

Nothing fancy but ok

Not the newest or cleanest of hotels, but for the price it was ok. Only used it as an overnight while at an event at the Carolina Horse Park, and the pet-friendly was really convenient! If you expect up-to-date and luxury, pay for it elsewhere. If you need a bed and a shower and lower cost, this is what you get.

I see this as a golf hotel only...

Posted Jul 13, 2014 on Hotels
I made this reservation for a same day check-in so here were my problems... -First, the room was not ready/clean. This was regardless the fact that three rooms (according to hotel.com) were ready at my rate. The man at the front desk said since it was a weekend, only rooms known to be booked get cleaned by the maid service. He was willing to clean my room and get it ready for me. I should have turned away at that time, but was dog tired and needed the sleep. -The hotel is old and outdated. It needs a renovation and restoration in the worst way. The TV is an old CRT tube. The wifi was good when it worked. It had to be reset. The shower was nasty and old. And the pillows should have been thrown out a year ago. -The next morning... The only thing the free breakfast had was bagels, cereal and some juice. No milk, no donuts, no fruit. The explanation was, there was not enough ordered. ??? Huh ??? I guess you could say the one positive was the pool. But I did not partake. My kids and wife did. Like I said, I was tired. I could only see myself staying here if I was golfing in the area, and did not care. But, I know I will not be coming back.

Appearances are deceiving!

Posted May 20, 2014
The exterior and lobby are promising a good stay, but the rooms were not as well cared for. The sink stopper was broken and there was only 1 bath towel (used) and only 2 vials of shampoo (no soap bars). The pillows were uncomfortable and didn't appear to be fresh. The breakfast offerings were as advertised, but the dinner menu was lacking. However, the waitress was very pleasant and did serve us a complete meal, even though a lot of items were unavailable.

Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Hair was in bed that had been made. TV was very small and difficult to view from bed.
