Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Location: mentioned above
My family and I went to Pinehurst between our kids school vacations. Although the main reason for our trip was for my husband and son to experience golf course no. 2 my daughter and I had a wonderful time. The weather was in the high 50's and low 60's. We went bike riding, played tennis and lawn bowling. We even enjoyed the spa facilities on the one rainy day. There was plenty to do and see for non-golfers as well. There is a lovely Village with charming shops and restaurants that was walking distance from the hotel although we also rode our bikes to the Village. All the staff at the Pinehurst resort were warm and inviting. We stayed at the Carolina and it was decorated for Christmas with impeccable flare. We also enjoyed tea time everyday at 4pm. The hospitality and food was fabulous. We really enjoyed the vacation and would highly recommend it..

Nice hotel

Cons: Better sound proofing.
It was very loud whenever someone was in the hallway or walking to the elevator.

Large hotel with boutique standards of service

Pinehurst is golfers' heaven. My husband and I are just learning to play and the weather didn't cooperate for us to practice on this trip. Fortunately, the spa is lovely and we made use of it daily.

For serious golfers only

The hotel is very clean but unless you are a golfer, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There's not enough activities and it's too far in the country.

Sweet and Elegant

Pros: Tea time
Location: Picture perfect
We had a wonderful, albeit short stay. The staff was very attentive. The room was immaculate with many amenities. At 4 PM, tea was served in the main lobby. Along with tea were the most delectable "homemade" type cookies and desserts. The Lobby was dressed for the holidays, adorned in poinsettias, a gingerbread replica of the town of Pinehurst, garland, trees and other lovely decorations. A short walk brought you to the picture perfect town of Pinehurst with its lovely shops and restaurants. The spa beside the hotel boasted of many services, although we did not avail ourselves of them. Rockers were placed on the porches surrounding the hotel, adding to the lovely ambiance. We were looking for a quiet retreat where we could celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. Of course, it was December and probably considered "off-season". The Carolina Inn at Pinehurst Resort met our expectations. We look forward to a return visit.
