“The photos online don't do this place justice!!”

Great experience...no issues with checking in early, rooms, including lobby, look freshly updated and therefor EXTREMELY clean and comfortable, and the staff couldn't have been nicer! This is also a perfect location with easy access to Greenport, wineries, farms, and terrific restaurants. Enjoy!

“comfortable hotel, reasonable price, WEIRD layout”

An added bonus is that this is in proximity to the Southold Fish Market which if fabulous. the staff were extremely accommodating. But the layout of the place is WEIRD. the hotel is like a movie set dropped amidst a warehouse area - indeed, Port of Egypt is a working commercial fishing area, and the hotel is surrounded by warehouses and businesses selling boats. The swimming pool you'd want to drive to, when it opens for the season. the Grill gazebo is a walk to the end of a spit of land, not really close to the hotel portion. the restaurant, also, is a little walk too. so, no, it's not the most charming location. with all those caveats, I would recommend it on the basis of the accommodations themselves and the extraordinary staff.
